I guess time will tell if we get more than the 2 conference wins we got last year. -

I can easily believe it. Called it in the Nevada game. Just a really bad team -

Wrong. Banton is no point guard. -
Haven’t had a lecture like that since the Big 10 tournament. Sorry, but I’m going somewhere

Now that’s really taking kindness to a new level

I suspect if we were told before the game we would have 24 turnovers to 7 by our opponent, and we shot 8-13 from the line we wouldn’t have liked our chances. Fortunately NW went 10-22 from the line, and we rebounded much better than we have been.

Very good win. Good game plan and prep. Great effort on the offensive boards. Helped overcome way too many turnovers. Need to work in inbounds plays. Haiby; what can u say? Gamer for sure. As KH says, we’re extremely limited at the other guard spot, and overall lack athleticism and skilled posts on the offensive end. To overcome all of that, give a great effort and get the win should be celebrated. Oh yeah, nice job on the back to back 3s Makenzie Brown!

Story in the OWH i think this morning indicating Brady and Cayton aren't that close.

Yeah, that was quite obvious. I was pointing out something different. In other news, the sun came up in the east today.

We desperately need our resident shooting scholar Norm to weigh in on this thread.

No, we don’t. And certainly not nearly enough. Yes, there are the other problems you note. But there is no way our talent is on par with the rest of the league. -

57-13 run by OSU before Lakes’ tip in. That should never happen, unless Gonzaga is playing the East high JV team -

High paid gig for Doc. Grossly obese, looks like a homeless person. Doesn’t recruit. Not sure what the point is but this ain’t gonna get it done -

Just a horrible team, as has been obvious for quite a while. Players aren’t good, coaching is abysmal. Not a lot of analysis required. -
Watch tape, easy to see that the ball gets stuck a lot. Catch and hold. Easy to defend

That’s what she said

Especially with posts (and no, I don't define Breidenbach that way). I've been really impressed with the young bigs in the league. Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan, etc.

Interesting, and thanks for posting. Young does not seem to be in much in these clips. He played a lot vs. Indiana, with his back to the basket a bunch. Perhaps our 5-out just doesn't work because we don't have 3 point shooters. Or just don't run it well. But I remain a skeptic of that approach in this league--the personnel necessary to run it will get abused on defense and in rebounding in this league full of quality bigs. Having said that, Northwestern is night and day better from last year. -
If Lakes plays more than spot minutes to shoot some 3s against zones, I quit. Starter in the Big? I don't see it.

Interesting viewpoint. I have watched more Big 10 than I usually do, and I’ve really been impressed with the talent in the league, and size , of course, which I’m lumping in with talent. We typically have 2 guys on the floor at any time who really should be at a lower level. I don’t see that with the other teams. I mean, Illinois’ talent is night and day better than ours. About 3 guys in our top 8 shouldn’t even be playing Power 5 basketball. I agree the intangibles you mention are a problem. But night in and night out, even if we did that stuff better, we’d be over-matched. I truly believe we have the 14th best talent in the league. This year, of course, in which the Big talent is off the charts. -

i hesitate to weigh in since you’re a coach and all—but I’d say a whole lot of what is going on is a talent issue. As in, we don’t have as much as the rest of the teams in the league. -

Not a bad thing to be known for, Norm. Good quality to have. Unfortunately my realism can't be quashed. Would rather have more of your DNA. But I'm the "some people" in your post.
