Wager is such a tough matchup. I haven't heard if Jordy will be playing, but it's hard to think he'll be able to keep up with him on the perimeter. Assuming we'll play mostly man, but I'm curious if the 1-3-1 is the most effective zone defense against the 5-out offense.

I noticed this also at the Wisconsin game. We were up three, with what, 0.9 seconds left, and Gill, I think, was on the line. He missed the first of two, and I'm yelling at Miles to put rebounders in there in case he misses the 2nd and they get a chance at a heave. He must not have heard me, because they were all at half court. Luckily, Gill made the 2nd. Come to think of it, I was in the 300's, so maayyybe not surprising he didn't hear me.

The only player I saw last night boxing out a man was Roby. Everyone else turned around and looked up waiting either for the make or the miss. Meanwhile, the Illinois players run in, go right by our players and get the rebound. If they're being coached on rebounding fundamentals, they are completely forgetting them.

I'm guessing that going forward Palmer will always be on the floor at the end of close games.

Our rebounding is driving me to the box wine, that's for damn sure.

Stealing is the right word. PSU has some talent, but I thought this would be one we might be able to steal on road. By no means did I expect we'd win all of our road games, but I thought we might have a shot to do just that at the end of regulation, which is why this loss is so frustrating. We must hold serve at home, and we should be able to pickup a couple road wins somewhere. We're still in good shape.

Regarding the end of regulation, to me it looked like they were trying to get Cope curling around a Roby screen at the top of the key, but Watkins disrupted the set by making it difficult for Roby to set a screen for Watson, thus the play took too long to develop, and by the time Copeland was curling Watson must have felt like there was not enough time so he launched a three.
