Well interesting to see one of her best friends is Kennedi Orr, who could very well be the top recruit coming out in 2021 to play volleyball at NE. Doesn't hurt to have one of your best friends going to the same school.
-
I wish nothing but the best for Leigha. She makes 4 Indiana players on their roster. I would find it hard to believe coaches or staff made contact before she put her name in the portal. I hope I get to see her a couple of more times. While I am and always will cheer on the Huskers, I do hope she has a great two years at Michigan.

Look at the comments that have been written on this board thru the season from it's members. While I am not going to track them all down. I would say most on this board are not happy with the product on the court a good part of the time. Granted players can and do have off games but Amy and her staff have been together for quite sometime and this is their 4th year in the B1G together so at this point they should have a good handle on this league. 2-8 to finish the season and those two wins against the bottom of the league.

Reading Sam's story today about Brown and Amy's remarks about Brown's hard work she put in during the off season, and overseas trip and for her to then come off the bench all season. Well...
-
So does anyone know if Amy has a end of season meeting with her players? Usually a one on one meeting? Maybe if they do the vision Amy has and the vision the player has is two different things? Yes players leave and move on even from great programs with successful seasons. Lots of reasons go into it. We do not know how much this virus maybe playing into these decisions. The concern now is do more players transfer? At this point it would not surprise me.
-
Would be interested to hear Sam's take on Brown leaving and the state of the program from a media prospective.
-
So does Brown transfer in conference? Does she petition to play right away and not lose a year? I will miss watching Brown play. I agree that there are internal issues between staff and players. Brown should have started all year. How many more will leave? How much more before Moos has to step in and make a change?
-
Sam I think they had a mental edge against Iowa for game one of the conference but it never really had a solid footing so when they gave away the game at MSU in the second half, and granted some calls made or missed by the folks in stripes did not help it began to crumble and continued right along. I think a better finish in the first half of conference would had set them up for the second and maybe the NCAA bid they wanted.
-
With the ongoing virus and now seeing talk about what the fall sports could look like if this extends that long we could very well go into winter with it as well. But you are right that conditioning will play a big roll next year if we get back to some sort of normal.
-
I know Amy likes to spread the minutes but really there should be a few starters who average 30 or slightly above. I do have to tip my hat to Brown for being a team first player. Not something you see this day and age much anymore.
-
I hope Brown does stay! With all of the uncertainty going on it would be a big blow for NE to lose her. I hope it remains at two, and maybe add one or two to the roster.
-
If Brown stays, then Bourne could very well be our number 2 scorer. Really both Brown and Bourne need to be around 30 minutes a game. Would like to see us use Brown as more of a point forward as she can not only get her own shot but could help her teammates score as well.
-
Mershon will continue to be a role player. Would think she would need to sit a year plus isn't there a rule about in conference transfers losing a year of time as well? With all of the exceptions in the B1G as least on the VB side would not surprise me if all of this has changed or exceptions made if asked for. As for Veerbeek she had a rough second half of the B1G IMHO. Maybe better suited to play in the NAIA. Good luck to both!
-
Case in point of trying to have players fit her system. Kate has no business trying to help on defense by the three point line and then going back to guard the middle.
-
I agree that Yori was/is a better coach. Considering the program she inherited, having to have a open try out her first year because she was short players, and then to built it says a lot. Williams has not shown at this point she has what it takes. Some coaches are 4 star and some are not. I would think the jury is still out on Williams but they are getting closer to a decision. I do not think she is in danger of getting her walking papers. But she does needs to make changes to what she is doing. Does that end in staff changes? Who knows. I do think she would help this team by structuring it around the talent she has. Seems like she is trying to make the players fit her system and I do not think that always works. Her record kinds states that was well.

if they cancel the NCAA tourney?
All About the Corn replied to kansashusker's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
On the men's side both Kansas and Duke have said they will not play in the NCAA championship so just a matter of time before the cancel both the men's and women's NCAA and NIT. -

While the Olympics are still on they have til mid May to make a decision on having them. Seems like there is growing pressure for them to postpone as well. As has been stated by medical professionals who specialize with diseases they want to level out the curve on COVID-19. -

I would think not a matter of if but when. With the NBA shutting down until further notice, seems like just a matter of time. -
I have seen where the NCAA is getting more pressure on them to cancel this years BB championships. A lot of money at stake, well on the men's side anyway.
-
So with Lincoln/Lancaster asking the NSAA to close the Boys State championships to teams and their immediate family only if NE gets and invite will they even host? Play to an empty arena? Or start the tourney and if 1-3 teams have a player, coach, or support staff come down with the coronavirus does the tourney shut down completely?
-
So would USD had taken the game from the team that beat Iowa at the beginning of B1G play? Maybe, maybe not. Would they take a game from us next week? Yes. Yes the same players but really two different teams if you understand where NE was and now is.
-
I would be careful when comparing the talent in the Summit conference vs the talent in the B1G conference. I not saying these kids can not compete in a P5 conference but their is a difference.
-
Purdue 72 and MSU 63

Well I do not have the drive some of you have. I live about 40 minutes from Lincoln but also work in Lincoln during the week. I appreciate those of you who have made those long trips for years. Part of why we have good fan support. Part of why some coaches talk about trying to take the fans out of the game. It also is a two way street and to keep that support you need to have a product on the court that you want to cheer on win or lose. Hoping we see a turn next year.

I have listened to some of the color commentators on the B1G and when they talk about NE more than a few seem to suggest (wonder) why Brown is not starting. It would be nice to see or hear Amy answer that question. I think it was Sam from the OWH that had a story on Brown and the role she was asked to play this year. Hope we get to see her for two more years.
