With the talk about Britt Prince in her thread and then we have girls who are 18 hours by flight away from home. Glad to have all three as Huskers!
-
So will we hear 3 anthems tomorrow?
-
Don't for get Men at Work for your listening pleasure. Might Paul Hogan show up?
-
Both good points on family and now the NIL factor. Top recruits will still look into going to top programs. We see that with our VB team.
-
I think for her to give a strong look at NE we will need to keep going up the conference ladder. Remember she is only in her second year of high school ball so it is possible she could be a top 5 recruit by the time she is a senior.
-
Have to wonder if they will be ready to play on the 27th at home against WI.
-
Would think this is a covid pause. So how long will we be shutdown?
-
I see her giving up her VB dream and focusing on what she does best.
-
Shelley is also trying to do a little too much. She needs to let the game come to her. Really this team maybe as Shelley goes they go.
-
Part of our problem is at times we do not take time to run some offense. We tend to take a quick three when maybe with a little bit of work we get a great look in the paint. We are not the only team to have our bigs out on the ball screen. There is a fine line when defending and we tend to go over it quite a bit. Will need to step it up on Sunday if Sam is a no go.
-
Iowa was on fire when we played them in Lincoln. I hope they have that type of outing on Sunday when we play them again. Might need it with Sam.
-
What has plagued Williams' teams quite a bit is a slow start. I don't anyone here on this forum, or her or the players like coming out of the gate down 8-10 points early on. It takes so much more energy to get back into games when down like that. I would like Markowski to start as she gives us a better chance to have a good start.
-
Both Markowski and Weidner made some freshman mistakes yesterday but the get after it and nothing wrong with that.
-
Bourne is at 29% for three and at 43% for free throws. I would stop shooting threes and work on those free throws.
-
Too many easy baskets (layups) and open threes by Warnock. Plus going from a let them play crew to the crew we had yesterday was not going to be for good for us. Plus yesterdays crew has proven to not make good calls over multiple games for us.
-
One more bit of info is UM needs proof of a negative test or proof of shot status to attend university events.
-
So I was not sure what to expect from our girls. After the poor outing at MSU this was a real test from them. We needed to bring our "A" game and did just that. I think having Markowski start for us should continue. She presents problems that Bella and Issie can not do. Our defense caused a lot of problems for Michigan last night. Weidner got good minutes last night. She and Markowski have an energy about them that we need on the floor. Plus we took threes more within the scope of the game vs. jacking them up like we did at MSU. Last night's crew let them play and I am sure a few are feeling it. This type of energy needs to continue on Sunday when Iowa comes calling.

Kind of like a few teams do not know NE plays the "other" anthem after the "National Anthem". I have seen a few teams start to go back to the bench only to get back in line for it. Interesting times indeed.
-
Michigan has not been meeting teams as more of a covid precaution. Volleyball did not meet mostly just exchanged waves from the players, coaches did so I guess it is just part of the new normal.
-
Brown was pressing all night. She actually jawed with the refs when she was here. I did see coaches Love and Goehle exchange greetings with her during warmups. Brown's parents was also there last night. She moved on and so has NE. Michigan is happy to have her.

"Inside the Vault" Episode 6 w/Kendall Coley...
All About the Corn replied to whoopdeedoo's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
It is on their twitter account. I viewed it there. -
These next five games could be very telling where we are as a team.

I did not get to watch this game until the weekend. I agree at times is was 5 vs. 8 and they did not make calls against MSU when it was a clear foul, travel, etc. That said we just played bad on both ends of the court. I did not get to listen to Matt and Jeff so if illness was a factor then it explains a lot. If not then really bad play by quite a few players. IMHO Bourne worst performance as a Husker. Also agree Markowski and Weidner and the other freshman brought energy and we did not give them enough time in this game. So really a little both players and coaching in this game. Watched the Mich. and OSU game and we will have our hands full and had better bring our "A" game on Tuesday.
