I am wondering how many Iowa fans scooped up a ticket(s)? Would like to see mostly RED.

So the Iowa home game on February 11th is now a sellout. PBA is listed as a 15,500 seat arena.

Michigan (12-5) vs. Nebraska (12-5) Game Thread

Our two best 3 point shooters, Hake and Nissley each only had one attempt last night. We need to get them more open looks. KM played more than Nissley but she also provided a spark. DW was 1 of 4 from deep but she has not been a good 3 pointer shooter. KM was 1-3 from deep. She appears to be a better drive to the basket player. Jaz was 1 of 4. She has been streaky, either on or not at all. -

Not too surprised by our three point shooting numbers. They guarded the three pretty well. Also KBA went deeper in her bench than she normally does. She was not happy with her team when she called her first timeout at 12-3. Easily our most complete defensive game. You know it is a bad night for them when their best player, Phelia only scores 9 points of which 7 comes from the FT line in 33 minutes. Their slow start and our defense put them in the hole and we kept them at bay when they got close. -
Amy is the type of coach that likes to hang her hat on defense. She has said so a few times. I can think of a couple of players where she said once their defense improves they will have more time on the court. IMHO it can come back to bite you. I know we have some players who are better on the offensive end, thinking Hake, or Nissley. I would rather see them spend more time on the court, knowing their defense can be lacking at times but the plus side they can score. Both are hitting plus 40% from three. When we look to go into the paint then we tend to do better from the 3 point line. We need both Potts and Alexis to be active in the paint as well as Jaz and Darrin. We really need to work on getting Potts more touches. Seems like she works hard to get good position in the paint and we do not look to get her the ball. Potts does a lot of her damage on the boards and second chance points. Which is great but I think it could be more from her. Again, just me two cents.

Krull, and Moriarty are really in more for there defense than offense. Any points we get from them is a bonus. Stewart just does not seem right. Wonder if she has completely recovered from her ankle, and she has also been seem with a wrap on one of her thighs.

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, are contenders or pretenders. With a game like this that picture is becoming a bit more clear.

Amazing what a coach with experience can do for a team. Will need to be better guarding the three if we are going to have a chance today.

Iowa plays fast and once they get rolling it is hard to stop them. Their defense is better than in past years. Clark demands so much attention it opens up their shooters for the three.

Sometimes you have to win ugly.

They should play the Beer Barrel Polka. That is the one good thing about the Iowa Hawkeyes, they do play the Beer Barrel Polka.

I have had more than few Pilsner Urquell's in my day. A great hardy Czech Pivo.

Yes my drive compared to a few of you is a real easy. I appreciate those of you who make the long trip each home game.

Karl I think you points are pretty spot on. Amy has made her feelings known about using her bench. I get her thinking but players do not always have the same view, or parents for that matter. Watching the Indiana game back if we could have defended the 3 better maybe we have a better chance (instead of a 22 point defeat maybe it is only single digits) even with their hot shooting. Our two losses at home and the 3 figured into both of them. That to me is on the coaches and game prep.

I work in Lincoln and have a 32 mile trip home. While I would like to go tonight I think It would be safer to get home before most of this stuff starts. Plus it is on BTN.

Amy and staff need to keep bringing in talent like Potts, and Prince. Now the trick is too keep them happy so they want to stay here. Look at Maryland, have they ever started conference play at 2-2? They have had a lot of turn over and it finally is catching up to them. Brenda has a NC on her resume and I would bet there are more than a few unhappy with this years team. Sports has become a what have you done for me lately. Don't win enough or win the games you should and you can easily be looking for a job. Glad I am not a coach.

We will see where this team is come March. The real question is where will we be after the B1G goes to 18 schools. UCLA is currently at #2, USC at #9, and both Washington and Oregon have been rated. The B1G is about to get a lot tougher.

Just watched Minnesota take down Michigan. The Gophers are a much better team. Going to be a tough game on Sunday.

Also was asked in the stands today what is going on with Jaz? The WI game and now this game she has not really looking for her shot. Is she or has she been ill? It was going to be a uphill battle with her playing the way we know she can play but this version of Jaz is not making the grade.

Can’t say I am surprised by the score. I am disappointed in Parrish going off on us. I would think the scouting report had her as a 3 point threat. Also thought we should have used Potts more in the paint. Did not think Parrish could guard her well enough. Kind of going back to what has been said before, playing to our players strength’s. On to Illinois.

Maggie is confirmed to Penn State.

I agree the officiating was not very good. Mark Resch was part of the crew last night. I have watched enough to know he is not good on any night.

Potts was tonight’s MVP.

The transfer portal has changed the game as has NIL money. It could be anyone on the current roster that has time left to play that may decide to enter the portal, even NE girls. You can have what you think is a successful year and they still leave. Some leave because they want to play (thinking VB here) and not sit behind a starter. Some go because they are not getting enough playing time or not starting. Assistants talking with club coaches to gauge a players current status on their team. Are they happy would they consider going elsewhere. A girls favorite team not interested when they were in HS and now are. I will enjoy watching and cheering them on while they are here, be it 2 years or 4 years.
