  1. Not at all. Its more about the pompous response that there is absolutely no logical way it couldn't not be Hoiberg ?
  2. Any and all? The first thing I though was guess this means he didn't have his guy lined up. Or the guy he has lined up is still coaching this season. But hey he still possibly has a house in Chicago soooo... ?
  3. This is where I land. Kinda have to at this point. Please Lord Baby Jesus don't f@ck this up.
  4. I thought no for this reason too. But then I thought if they did get a bid (I don't think they will) one of the assistants would step up.
  5. I really have no idea the size of contract they offer the next coach. The consensus among articles/opinion pieces and message boards seem to suggest people generally believe NU is in a position to offer 3 million per year. For the next point let's assume that's true. So what about length? I say you have to go 6 years. Show the commitment. That's a contract for 18 million. I understand the arguments that its hard to win here. And a coach may believe this is a career killer. I just don't buy that argument now. I think the last 3 coaches I buy it more so. I think if there is really that kind of money coaching candidates would look at all the positives and this is an attractive job. Nothing can be done about history. Nothing can be done about proximity to recruits. But it seems to me about everything that can be done to level the playing field has been done now.
  6. I would hope the expectation or confidence in hiring a next head coach that can win one tournament game has higher odds than a winning lottery ticket. But, alas, I have been following this team greater than three decades so I can understand this sentiment ?
  7. I guess my only concern going forward is I hope the next coach is treated like Frost. Meaning given whatever he asks for. Eliminate the question about total buy- in from the athletic dept. This has come up in at least the last 3 coaching changes (counting the current one).
  8. Thad Matta March 22
  9. I believe that is right. I think you can only do it once and I thought Roby did his last year. That's how I understand it.
  10. I still see him back. Or grad transfer. He still needs work on some things. If he hesitated at the 3 pt line in the NBA like he tends to do they would eat him alive. Don't get me wrong...he could dominate. We have all seen it. I could see him buried on a roster in the NBA. I think he has more potential than that. And he is young. 1 more year developing in college here or some where else is worth the risk for him. I just hope he chooses here ?
  11. See I look at this and go the other way. The man KNOWS what's important now. He still wants to coach. His leash would be loooooooooong. A personal aside - got a back injury. When it hurts it suuuuucks. When it gets better and you learn how to deal with it it gets sooooo much better. Anyhoo, I could see this ?
  12. You could bump each of those #’s up 500K and I am super cool with that.
  13. Just because something CAN be done doesn't mean it SHOULD be done.
  14. I think we are all going to get to find out ?
  15. Ya have to think just about any coach that comes in makes him at least the #2 scoring option. He could take less classes here because he already has the credits. Knows his teammates. Gets to play in the Big Ten. I think he's back.
  16. I mean he did say, "...but if Moos pulls this off no one across the country will believe it." ?
  17. Anyway to do something similar on the defensive side as well? ?
  18. They're my Colorado ?
  19. They're the team in conference play I most enjoy see us beat ?
  20. Refresh my memory please. Thor is a ...sophomore?
  21. I'm not sure they would be able to exploit it.? Thought of something else. We struggled against that 2014 Baylor team. And in my clouded memory that team had length like we do.
  22. At a minimum we can agree on this ?
  23. Unless we are able to make an incredible run in the NCAA tourny TM won't be getting any big time offers. I think one of the tenets of this argument is this exact quote. Many people on this board, myself included, thinks now and thought back then this is exactly what is going to happen. And if you subscribe to that thinking its maddening to watch this play out. Not the basketball of course ?
