We have a game coming up that will bail him out. Beat Maryland and he can say "Oh, well, now I've seen more of Nebraska and they belong in the Power 36." Lose, and he can say "see, I knew they weren't that good."

It's not that it was Bobby Hurley. It's that I had this game pegged as an opportunity for us to leapfrog a team ranked ahead of us in the AP poll. We're not going to jump over KU; we might have jumped over ASU if they'd gotten curb-stomped at home.

But did it have to be Arizona State beating them?

They no longer have a Creighton Prep grad on the team, so the chances of them bringing a Jaysker cheering section is none to minimal, as are the odds that one of their dudes will try to take out our best player on a fast break.

Keep in mind, that's with Roby being in foul trouble a lot. If Roby wasn't a frequent object of officiating attention, that average probably moves north of 30.

I saw Uber at the game. He gave me a Lyft to my car.

At 6'10" he's a decent looking athlete. Runs very smoothly, has a very nice stride. Looks like he could run all day. His jumper is a little weird, but, hey, if it goes in, I'm not going to complain. He's a little spindly at this point and once he grows into his body a bit, his coordination on his jumper is going to look a little better.

This was our Incarnate Word game of 2018. Our Savannah State or Gardner-Webb. Except this time, when we couldn't hit freethrows, we had a 20 point lead, and when they went on a run, we had an answer. And, in the end, we pulled a little further ahead and won handily. But they played us a lot closer in the 2nd half than the final score would indicate.

Ok, so a 2 seed. I'm good with that.

Furman and Buffalo lose. And tomorrow, #18 and #19 are likely to both lose: #19 Kentucky plays at #9 UNC; and #19 ASU gets a visit from #1 KU. If we don't stub our toes and win comfortably tomorrow, we could be closing in on top 20 status.

So, the guy who couldn't miss against us couldn't hit the water if he fell out of a boat when they played OU. Ballock apparently used up a bunch of his 3-point makes for the season when they played us and he went 7-10. Two games later against OU, he was 0-11. One thing both performances had in common, though, was Creighton lost.

I vote Trendon Watford.

If I remember correctly, there was a lot of hand wringing over the fact that we let Arop go and didn’t try hard enough to land Chang. And then there was a WTF reaction to offering Heiman. I’d say, by the looks of things so far, the right calls were made.

I would have laughed

I might not be remembering this correctly, but it seems like there was a whole lot of hand-wringing over the fact we let Arop get away and didn't pursue Ed Chang strongly enough. And, why the hell did we offer that Heiman kid? Well, we've played a hell of a lot tougher schedule than SDSU has, and Brady has about as many points and rebounds as those two have ... combined.
