Idk how you can list Rutgers and not Minny though…

To be fair, according to this, we’re more “in” than near the bubble with odds of 85% or better. So yes, last four byes, but more for seeding purposes than bubble in his mind as it stands today.

Nebraska (3-3) vs. Grand Canyon (5-2) Series Game Thread
hskr4life replied to Bugeaters1's topic in Other Huskers Sports
Yeah— I’m not surprised that we usually get our pick of early season series down south. Anyone would take the revenue Husker Nation brings for baseball (and all non-money making sports). We just travel so well. -
Predictions like this leave me shaking my head. I’m sorry, but in current state, our metrics alone are too good for Dayton. Theres no top 35 in both resume AND quality metrics that’s getting sent to Dayton.
-
What’s helped more than SOR moving into the 20’s is that our quality metrics (Pom and BPI) have bumped up into the low 30’s. Keep them there and we’ll have no sweating to do on Selection Sunday.

Nebraska (3-3) vs. Grand Canyon (5-2) Series Game Thread

While we had a lot of K’s, I liked our aggressive swinging approach better last night. One thing I noticed our pitchers doing so far this year is attacking the zone. Daring other teams to hit us. I like it. There may be a game or two where we just give up a whole host of hits, but at least they aren’t walks. MAKE THEM HIT IT TO BEAT US. -

Be back? There may be even more as weather looks to be awesome and that was a Thursday night game! -
I mean we did face an AA who might only lose 2-3 games this year max. I’m just glad we were one of them.

Nice way to start the series. Now we have our Fri/Sat/Sun starters ready to go. Let's take half the series tomorrow! -

Not so mad about the bunt... not a bad idea and would have worked had it not gone straight up. However, standing there and watching before running to first to end on a DP was bad. -

I have been pleasantly surprised by our pitching through the first 4 games. It's been, for the most part, better than expected. Kudos to the man in charge. -

A lot of strike outs through 3... but the bats are alive in the 4th. Huskers with a 3-0 lead. I think I read this is their ace, possible All-American? -

We will be there Sunday for the first time this year. Will definitely be a no sit... or rarely sit guy. -
Over the past few weeks, he’s posted this a couple of times. We’ve been inching our way north toward that green trapezoid. That’s a good thing! Where we are at, from what I gather, means we can play fast or slow if we need to, but we’re pretty efficient either way.
-
Glad I bought my Minny tickets early. That one went from “easy to get” to “game with implications for both teams” real fast.

In our quest for a double bye, here is the schedules for the teams we’ll be fighting with. Illinois: Iowa, Minnesota, @Wisconsin, Purdue, @Iowa Wisconsin: @Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers, @Purdue Northwestern: Michigan, @Maryland, Iowa, @Michigan St, Minnesota Michigan St: Ohio St, @Purdue, Northwestern, @Indiana Iowa: @Illinois, Penn St, @Northwestern, Illinois

Or throwing in the towel since their coach was canned and they are on a 2 game skid.

That first half of KT ball… there’s not stopping that. They even played realllly good D on some of his shots… still made it. -
At this point, 8-9 seeds are still bubblicious too, so a lot of flux. I’m still including teams like FAU and Wazzu even though they are solidly in.
-
While the 2 seed is definitely a reach… a top 4 seed is certainly in play with the schedule we have remaining! Would be great to achieve that!

Reaults (2/21/24): Huge win for the Huskers and PSU knocked off Illinois. Miami is probably officially eliminated and Cincy needs to win out the regular season now all other bubble teams took care of business. Big 10 Games Illinois 89 @ Penn St 90 Nebraska 85 @ Indiana 70 Non-Con Opponents Games None Other Bubble Games Duke 84 @ Miami 55 Florida 93 @ Alabama 98 Oklahoma St 80 @ Cincinnati 76 St John’s 90 @ Georgetown 85 South Florida 66 @ UTSA 61 Charlotte 52 @ Memphis 76 Indiana St 83 @ Valpo 64 Belmont 69 @ Drake 84 Providence 79 @ Xavier 75 Ole Miss 71 @ Miss St 83 Colorado St 66 @ New Mexico 68 Games To Watch (2/22/24): WSU and FAU are both well off the bubble (in a positive direction). A loss by Zaga or Grand Canyon eliminates them. Im surprised our 2nd half collapse didn’t get it closer to a 50/50 game. Appears we were still in the 65-70%(ish) range.
