The noon tip time follows the return of the Nebraska Life Skills Sportsmanship Pep Rally, which begins at 9:30 a.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The special event, co-sponsored by the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame, features approximately a 90-minute program that will include Nebraska Director of Athletics Trev Alberts, Head Coach Amy Williams, All-Big Ten guard Sam Haiby, volleyball players Madi Kubik and Kenzie Knuckles, bowling All-American and national champion Cassidy Ray and Nebraska baseball Big Ten champions Max Anderson and Brice Matthews. More than 1,500 middle grades students from nearly 30 school districts across Nebraska are scheduled to attend.

Welcome Back Kot, err Courtside, Kent & Matt (& Fans) (I didn't really realize the extent/ramifications of your COVID banishment ) https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/back-in-the-arena-play-by-play-men-coatney-pavelka-ready-to-resume-normal-roles/article_ec68a2a6-0620-5b3e-acc1-d305a127e24a.html

ADDITION: Just a hint. If you decide to subscribe, sign-up through BTN. Since I use apple-tv I signed up once through the Apple Store, they just act as a 'middleman' and send your subscription to BTN. The result is it is more difficult to CANCEL when you want to because you also must then 'cancel' through the apple store. BTN is easier to cancel.

Flashback Alert!!! (She'll Do! )

Most everyone here knows that a lot of Husker Sporting Events not on broadcast tv are being live streamed. Here is some information on how it works, how to access it, and what it costs that I hope is helpful for anyone who may want to try it out (not all those trying out the one-time, free streaming for the MBB Exhibition game vs Colorado were completely sold, some mentioned watching on their computer which it caused it to freeze-up). Anyway, for us WBB fans, The Women's Basketball Team was surprisingly good last season, exceeding expectations; and could very likely do so again this year. This season over half of the Women's Basketball Games (18 of 29) will be carried by 'BTN Plus' video streaming. This is the ONLY way to Watch those games if you do not attend in person. A subscription for video streaming costs $9.95 per month, for a single-school PASS (i.e. Huskers ). BTN + plays on a lot more platforms than a laptop or desk-top computer. Several supplemental cable boxes such as 'Roku, 'Fire' and 'Apple,' and streaming services like SLING-TV, HULU, You Tube TV, DIRECTV STREAM, play directly on your big-screen tv. (I use Apple-TV box which goes directly to big-screen tv;. Video quality is consistently good (Hi def) and no-freeze ups) You can even watch on your 'Smart Phone' when you are 'on the go.' There are some minor annoyances (but not video quality or freeze-up issues); like I can't seem to get the games to start exactly at the tip, and some of the time they resort to 'student' announcers for the game (but I usually listen to games with 'Homer' announcers via the HSN radio App; Syncing can sometimes be a problem but I can generally 'pause' one of the apps until pbp matches the action). The number of games on BTN+ makes it cost effective to subscribe; 18 games over 4 months ($40), just a little more than $2 per game, starting with the Exhibition Game on Nov 1st vs Midland (already played, but you can re-watch it), and the Season Opener vs Maine on November 9th. (I'm also sure nobody wants to miss the all-important Creighton game on Nov 17th). You can Replay Games from the archive, and also watch all other Husker Sports that are being shown on BTN+ (such as Women's Volleyball and the 4 or so MBB games that will be shown on BTN+). It is easy to sign up with a credit card at the link. The subscription renews automatically each month (on the day you originally signed-up) so you Must Remember to Cancel your subscription after the WBB season; Or, if you do not want to continue at the end of the month. https://www.bigtenplus.com/en-int/page/payment (EDIT: Just a hint. If you decide to subscribe, sign-up through BTN. Since I use apple-tv I signed up once through the Apple Store, they just act as a 'middleman' and sends your subscription to BTN. The result is it is more difficult to CANCEL when you want to because you also must 'cancel' through the apple store. BTN is easier to cancel.) WBB Video coverage 2021/22 18 - BTN Plus (including Exhibition Game) 7 - BTN 2 - FS1 1 - ESPN 2 - yet to be announced, or no video (The Dana on Mission Beach Holiday Tournament 11/26-27) So Sorry for such a long post; Now if you'll excuse while I : https://c.tenor.com/FWJo3TKav5cAAAPo/the-simpsons-nope.mp4

This should be a good year, but in any event if the energy and camaraderie during the exhibition is any indication, this is going to be a fun team to watch, regardless of the level of competition. BTN Plus seems like a good cost-effective alternative to watch the team develop (a subscription costs $9.95/mo) without the cost (and time) of the long drive. (Plus you can re-watch it from their archives and I believe slow down the action to review plays.) I'll post a BTN Plus primer to the main WBB forum before the next game in case anyone is not aware that you can live-stream games (18 of the 29 games will be on BTN + and the only way to watch unless you attend the game.)

Reflecting a little more about it, I wonder if maybe all the early trey attempts weren't more intentional than not. It seems like most everyone was given the green-light to shoot early on (21 of the 34 treys were in the 1st half, and everyone had at least 1 attempt except Kendall Coley) and then there is Coach Love's tweet that its going to be raining (threes). Maybe it was just to get it out of their system, or maybe show the team they shouldn't rely on threes to win games (looking at the box score, what were the made treys: only 7 out of 34 tries for a 20.6% success rate). Later in the game we saw a lot more teamwork and co-ordinated offense (accounting for 58 of the total 87 points). There were 24 Assists (on the 36 made FGs) and FG shooting was 44.4% (61.7% from two). We won the rebounding battle 53:36 and had 17 steals and 8 Blocks. Impressive statistics (vs an admittedly over-matched team) for their first outing. Mostly, I think this must be the most athletic and deepest team that Coach Amy Williams has had at Nebraska. This should be a good year, but regardless this is going to be a fun team to watch. https://huskers.com/documents/2021/11/1/NEBvMIDFinalBox.pdf
