  1. Women's NCAA - March Madness Predictions https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2022-march-madness-predictions/womens/ ---------------------------------------------------- WBB Sweet 16, Final Four (2022) Huskers have 4 wins against the Sweet Sixteen Teams: That is: (# 3) Michigan (52) (2-0) next up ...............vs (#10) South Dakota (49), Sat, 3/26 @ 6:30pm, ESPN2 (#10) Creighton (76) (1-0) .............................vs (#3) Iowa State (68), Fri, 3/25 @ 9:30 pm, ESPN2 (#3) Indiana (58) (1-1) .....................................vs (#2) UCONN (75), Sat, 3/26 @ 2 pm, ESPN (#6) Ohio State (63) (0-1) ..............................vs (#2) Texas (66), Fri, 3/25 @ 7 pm, ESPN2 (#4) Maryland (66), (0-1) ................................vs (#1) Stanford (72), Fri, 3.25 @ 9:30 pm ESPN Interesting - Both teams that beat us in reg season LOST Fri; yet the team we beat, WON their game. We'll see how Michigan and Indiana fare today (Sat). Indiana, that we split with, LOST; Michigan, that we beat, TWICE, WON. (South Dakota gave 'em as much as they wanted tho)
  2. I wanted to see how Gonzaga played vs Louisville after advancing . After digging themselves into a 0-14 hole to start the game , the Zags rallied to 32-36 at halftime, even holding the lead for some of the time. Louisville had a big 3rd qtr, outscoring the Zags 20-12, but Zags reduced their lead in the fourth quarter, outscoring Louisville 15-12, to lose 59-68. Just out of curiosity I listened to the Louisville Post-game conference with HC Jeff Walz (former Nebraska Assist), Emily Engstler, Kianna Smith & Hailey Van Lith. (29:50) A very impressive listen! I recommend it for anyone. Great Coach interview, and very impressive (well-spoken) players. Seems to me it could be helpful in understanding what we have to do to reach the next level - I liked Walz's comments about Assistant Coaches, i.e getting the best you can.
  3. Holy Moly!!! Celebrating in Vermillion Tonight!!!
  4. And we were Shy one coach for all of the last third of our Season!
  5. Flannery is a GOOD coach (and we all know Connie Yori is). Hats-off to Creighton for beating IOWA! (I know they gave us all the game we wanted! )
  6. Iowa AND Michigan! I remember the last play of our game vs Mich inbounding under the basket to get a bucket to tie, or win the game. Leigha Brown tipped the inbound (snagged by Alexis), tripped over Alexis and went 'SPLAT' face first on the floor. It was easy to miss in the excitement, but a replay showed Brown getting up with out-stretched arms pleading for a foul (as if she went down obviously she MUST have been fouled). I think it must be taught as their 'Default' response.
  7. Shouldn't that be: "Credit Trev Alberts for us being able to figure it out!" (In Trev WE Trust! )
  8. As @redstevementioned in 'Big Ten Team News' how about: Alluded to by Sam, Nailah Dillard is another wild-card, who could become a formidable player/scorer if her recovery from successive surgeries is successful and she is healthy. So many uncertainties going into next season: Who stays, and who is leaving? Who is going to 'step-up' and 'stand-out' next season? Will the great leap forward from Freshman to Sophomore years kick-in? How will the redshirts (Trinity Brady & Tatiana Popa) develop? Who (unknowns) might we be able to pick-up in the portal? Maybe even as important, who will be Amy's Assistant Coaches next season? Regardless, I believe we are in a GOOD PLACE. With the program/camaraderie Coach Williams has built, who Wouldn't want to come to Nebraska? All said, I believe things are looking up on the recruiting front! Seems to me the question might be: Will there be enough room?
  9. Seems Fair! Over and above the relative experience (read youth) on the teams, Gonzaga was just a better team, at least they Executed better. Their offense was much more consistent (and patient) in the paint, outclassing us in Assists, PiP, Rebounding, and Second Chance Points. Blocks were 4-3, but I'm not sure how they were counted because listening it seems like almost every third or fourth shot of ours was blocked. Yet we lost by only 13 points (surely would have been much greater had we not shot 41% from three-land). I, for one, will be very interested in seeing how the Zags play vs. #1 seed Louisville on Sunday. No doubt we were out-coached! But watching their team during Time Outs, they did have a full complement of coaches in the huddle. It's easy to forget that we are down one coach (and have been for about the last third of the season). This may be a good time for Coach Amy to make some changes, maybe leading to an upgrade in coaching skills; at the very least an infusion of some new blood/ideas regarding opponents that we see in the B1G. Pressure has historically always seemed to impact our performance, such as shooting, offenses and defenses, more so than our opponents. I think progress is being made in our handling pressure, yet we rarely seem to attempt to apply pressure to opponents, making Them as 'Uncomfortable' and out of rhythm as they seem to be able to do to us. Nonetheless I think significant progress has been made during the year, adding a solid class getting talented, enthusiastic recruits and solidifying our standing in the top half of the conference.
  10. I thought we already had some.
  11. Congratulations Zags!!! (For your prize you get to play #1 Seed Louisville - go get 'em. )
  12. Team Stats at the end of 3 Qtrs of Play!
  13. Fasten Your Seat Belts!!! We've got a game on. 30-33 at the Half! (10- days off is probably a little too much between games)
  14. 1 Q Team Stats (sorry regular stats are restricted to media)
  15. I think they're from Grand Island!
  16. We were in her top Seven.
  17. SENIOR DAY!!!
  18. Pre-Gonzaga Game Press Conference (27:14) Closed-captions help a little with the questions being asked, (but not much; they're truncated and seem to lag) Coach Williams: to 11:00 Jaz Shelley @ 12:02 'I like to win' Alexis Markowski @ 19:40 "I think we match up really well with them' Instead of the old adage 'Survive and Advance' I think we want to 'Attack and Dominate' Sam Haiby @ 23:25

  20. Kudos to Coach Amy Williams for building a program that I think a lot of players would be eager to join and contribute. Enough Said:
  21. We seem to be batted around like a Ping-Pong ball with all the Regions we're supposed to be in. So glad it will all be moot after today.
  22. Thanks @kansashusker. So glad to know Rachel Blackburn is coaching (the others too, of course ) - I really would like to have seen more of her on the court were it not for her knee issues!
