  1. It's been awhile since the baseball team has been really good and most Valley teams are better than that BCS school.
  2. Or, what potential fan in Omaha would say, "I'd love to go watch the Huskers. If it only wasn't such a long drive to see them. Why don't they play here once every other year?" There are quite a few people who would go to watch the Huskers in Omaha but do not want to take the time or spend the money to go to Lincoln. I know that they are referred to as "casual fans". But thesse casual fans could become "true" fans with some exposure. Look at the number of people that show up for the baseball games in Omaha.
  3. BTN had first choice and chose not to show it. I don't think that they want to give any more exposure to Creighton, who competes for some of the same players with Big 10 schools, after the 26 point beatdown they put on Iowa last year. That is my guess, and that is all that it is. Who realy knows?
  4. Sometimes we put too much emphasis on facilities, maybe.
  5. Lacrosse? This sounds more like a sport for Creighton. Will take it; another sport to make the NCAA tournament in.
  6. BINGO
  7. The Catholics versus the Presbyterians in Omaha today. I'm a little worried; they call themselves "The Big Hose" or something like that. The must be pretty cocky. Of course, "big" is a relative term.
  8. \Or you could look at it this way... Creighton won six games last season after trailing by 10 or more points, including wins away from home at San Diego State and at Wichita State, on neutral floors vs. Drake and Alabama, and in home triumphs over Long Beach State and Evansville.
  9. I never hear any of the Creightonians say this. I only see that on this board. St. Joes will be a tough game for CU, also. They looked pretty good in beating Notre Dame last night. Plus CU has to get by Wisky and Arkansas/Arizona State, along with a game at Cal. We just hope CU can win the Valley and provide some entertainment along the way.
  10. He's looking pretty good. You guys are playing much better than the Jays right now. If we keep Doug out of foul trouble it should be a good game on the 6th. You guys will have the edge since it will be in Lincoln.
  11. +1 This is also how I "beat the traffic." I have never understood why some people think that an extra 15 minutes is going to ruin their day/sleep/kids...whatever. Hell, it gets me out of the house during the winter. But, yet, they will give up five to six hours of their Saturday during some of the most beautiful days of the year to watch a game.
  12. Congrats Huskers. 2-0 is pretty good; keep it up and just enjoy this season. Norm, was Ubel double and triple teamed like Doug Mc? Ubel has been a bright spot. Trickey, I think you are right about Andre being penalized for being big. It has happened to Echinique alot, also, untihe became more established as a good, legitimate player. (I hate refs. A quote by Jimmy Val... "I hate refs; you just can't trust them. I asked one if I could get a technical for something I was thinking. He said of course not. So I told him: I think you stink! He gave me one anyway."

The Jays game against UAB is on NET this Wednesday night. UAB in 33 years of basketball... 14 NCAA Appearances 3 Sweet Sixteens 1 Elite Eight 9 Conference Titles 11 NIT Appearances 22nd All-time winningest program
  14. You guys have one tonight. Good luck and enjoy it...it's basketball, FINALLY.
  15. Jeff Goodman: McDermott, Creighton do it with defense -- seriously http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketb ... -seriously
  16. I know that the Husker Basketball fans are just as pumped for basketball to begin as the Jays fans are. http://whiteandbluereview.com/?p=20483 Good luck this weekend.
  17. Who won? What was the score?
  18. It's probably not as bad as you want to think, Norm. We probably need to include the years at the Civic. I actually prefer to see pretty good teams over superstar players. And, yes, you can be a great team and not necessarily go far in the tournament. I'm sure Kansas had way more superstars than Northern Iowa, but the better team won that day. In regards to the sweater vests... if you guys would wear these, you wouldn't need a thread about a lack of Husker basketball gear being sold. You could just go to Pennys or Von Maur.
  19. I'll have to agree with you on the polls. They are just for fun, but I don't think they should do rankings in ANY sport until at least half way through the season. I don't give a hoot about Vegas either. I just want college basketball to start. However, there must be a lot of people without a clue out there to start this season. To be honest with you, there is more discussion about Creighton being ranked on this site than on any of the Bluejay forums. (?) Who started his thread??
  20. No one knows exactly what the season will bring; that's what makes it fun to watch. Winning a lot of close games often teaches you how to win. Like to admit it,or not, but wins in the Valley are quality wins, especially winning the tournament. You are right, there are question marks, but not nearly as many as most teams in the nation will have. I am just happy that college basketball is now starting. There have actually been some basketball stories on the local news this week. Husker fans, enjoy your season. Some of my best memories as a Jays fan has been watching players and teams develop from "What the ____?", to "WOW!" When Bob Harstad was a freshman, I could not believe that they gave this guy a scholarship. Four years later he was CU's all time leading scorer and had been to two NCAA tournaments. I was there when CU drew 3,000 fans but still enjoyed it. What better way can you think of to get out of the house during the winter than watching college basketball.
  21. Wow, and three from "mid-majors." Does anyone know if this is a first for that?
  22. It did for Creighton. I remember,(around 15 years ago), you could not by a Creighton shirt or cap anywhere, except for the on-campus bookstore.
  23. Maybe you could find someone to read it to you.
  24. I think you've got yourself a keeper, here. I don't want to tick anybody off more than usual, but I always thought Doc was saying what he thought people wanted to hear, and was kind of full of it. I do think he worked hard, though. I think Miles seems genuine (except for that only program in the state, comment.)
