  1. If they can maintain their current level of play, at a minimum, and hopefully incrementally improve, they may have a shot, which 3 games ago I was thinking it might be a scramble to get to 5 conf. wins. Granted the last 3 games haven't been against the cream of the league crop, but the way they've won (2 blowouts and a fairly convincing win against a decent Illinois team on the road) is very promising. Webster, Watson, Morrow, Jacobson & McVeigh have picked up their play considerably lately which takes some of the pressure off White & Shields. Stay consistent with this level of play and they should be very competitive going forward.

  12. 5 road wins is highly unlikely with this young team, regardless of how some of those teams have played so far. @Rutgers is the closest thing to a lock, but even that one is questionable. Michigan and Ohio State at home are possible wins, but I would also consider them unlikely simply because IMO both of them hold a significant athletic advantage against NU across the board.
  13. No inside presence, poor guard play, no shooters and recurring poor fundamentals + young team on the road - recipe for a pummeling. Creighton is basically the polar opposite in all those categories. And, as others have noted, they seem to have a system and all the players understand the system, knowing where they and their teammates are supposed to be. When an NU guard drives into the paint, the other 4 seem to be glued to a spot - never seems to be much effort or understanding of how to find an open area. Also, as was pointed out previously, could they not figure out that Groselle is left-handed? Every time in the post, they positioned themselves to take away his weak hand. Maybe he can go to the right, but I would think you would at least try to force him that way.
