Not quite sure how to word this. It will probably be one of my lengthier posts. But, here goes: Welcome to the cip farewell tour. In the next few weeks, I'll be fading away from this forum. Nothing bad, it's all really good, but I want to let everyone know why my involvement here will be sporadic, at best. As some of you know, I grew up in Hampton. Mrs. cip moved there when she was in high school. We've been together for 23 years, and for some reason we've always had it in our hearts to get back to Hampton. I'm a firm believer in Divine Providence, and we both agree God gave us that desire. We were waiting on his timing. Well, that timing finally came. Sometime shortly after December 1st, we will be opening a restaurant and lounge in Hampton called Conlee's (our grandson's first name). The doors that came flying open in a 7 day period for us to purchase the old Legion in Hampton are amazing. I tell people to never give up on their dreams. They will come true. It takes faith. God has your back! The reason I'm posting this is twofold. First of all, I didn't want to disappear and leave everyone wondering what happened (ala Auroran---by the way, he hasn't posted for awhile...). Secondly, and by far most importantly, I wanted to thank everyone for giving me much joy since Dave started this website. It has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of people who I now consider friends. You have also put up with my nonbasketball nonsense which makes up the majority of my posts. Thank you for that. Although I'll still be around for the next month, I wanted to let people know I won't be starting the game threads anymore. That really was fun. It's time to pass that torch. I'm saddened I won't be much of a part of HHC just when the program is on such an upward trend. However, I will stay in touch. I'm only just a private message away. With the new forum it's great that the messages go to my email account. So, when you slackards want salsa, you can let me know. Finally, I expect you guys to make an appearance at Conlee's. Those of you who live west of Lincoln have no excuse not to show up. We'll have plenty of TV's, plenty of adult beverages, and THE BEST steaks and burgers in this fine country of ours. GO BIG RED! You know there has to be a video.....

Sometimes you need to dig just a little bit deeper.....

So, we missed out on C. Elbert. Just as well. You never can trust a guy who uses the first initial of their first name instead of their entire first name.

Leave it to the British to bail the French out.....

Lincoln's own Denny Zager and Rick Evans.

Which Elvis, Presley or Costello? If Presley..... Which one, skinny or fat? It does make a difference.......

I would never link a Don Henley video, Dimes. Now, George Harrison, on the other hand......

Vote for you choice(s) for renaming the Devaney Dungeon
cipsucks replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Yeah it would be real smart to keep the forum named after where we USED to play... I get that change is sometimes uncomfortable for folks, but I don't understand the logic of keeping the forum named after the Devaney Center. Doesn't make sense to me. 49r probably has a point about changing the name. I'm not voting in this thing because it truly doesn't matter to me what we call the damned thing. It's not like we're going to get more people on here if we have a new-fangled name we attach to a message board forum. How about if we attach a picture of the Sower on top of the State Capitol dribbling a basketball and call it the Haymarket Hard On? -
You're not planning on playing them one player at a time are you? Have you been taking coaching lessons from Kidney? Speaking of the world's greatest coach, there was a possible Kidney sighting in Lincoln this past weekend....

Food for thought: A few questions.
cipsucks replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Since this is a thread about food, I'll wager a jar of salsa he's not here 5 years. Yep. Never said he would be. So, can I accept your bet by agreeing with you? I never said you said he would be. So, no you can't accept my bet by agreeing with me. -

Although I'm a huge Van Morrison fan, I've always been partial to the Shadows of Knight version....

Changing the name of the Devaney Dungeon
cipsucks replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
How about "The 13th Letter of the Greek Alphabet Dungeon" or, to shorten it up, "The NU Dungeon" -

Glad we have Nebrasketball to look forward to.

The fact that Pelini would go into an F bomb tirade doesn't surprise me. I think we can all agree on that's just Bo being Bo. What stands out to me is the fact that he felt comfortable doing it in front of a lady, Chris Anderson. Really? I mean really? That is a big time lack of class. -

In the immortal words of Joe Biden, "that's a big effing deal." Ouch. I think he would have an easier time explaining getting ticketed in a Lincoln park for sitting in a car with a girl who happens to be naked from the waist up than unleashing an f bomb tirade on the people who pay your salary. I think someone will need a whiskey/Nyquil chaser tonight..... -
I hope Peltz plays this year. We haven't had a native Nebraskan contribute to this program since Dave Hoppen.....
