this is sort of a bold statement, but I’m not so sure Braden Smith isn’t the best player we’ve seen this year.  He’s unreal.  And not in a classical big-scorer way.  Just plays at an elite level and clearly has cut his teeth in big-time games versus future NBA players.  What he did defensively to us was probably even more amazing than his offense.

 

I used to think he was overrated.  He’s not.

It's hard not to like him. He affects the game in so many ways. Doesn't showboat, just hoops.

He's the best player in the big ten. TKR is feeding off him a lot right now. Fletch has added some on the ball stuff to his game too. But Smith is the best player we'll see all year imo

There was some two man play early on where he just bounced a pass between both our two defenders for an easy basket that I couldn't believe.  Tip of the cap there.

Penn St basically took the ball out of his hands with Ace Bailey in their win.
