Injury Reports
Williams and Fleming are two freshmen who haven't played much this year. Iowa plays all of their non-Woodbury starters a lot of minutes so losing anyone to either injury or foul trouble could cause issues for the Hawks....or could cause some unscouted dude to blow up for 20 on us.
The Skinny
Sorry, travelling this week so this will be brief.
Led by 4 Senior starters, Iowa has put together what might be their best team since the pinnacle of the Steve Alford era in 2006. The team has had a few close losses early but started B1G play by beating Michigan St and Purdue, a pair of teams considered in the running for the Final 4.
Nebraska actually being able to shoot will help against a team like Iowa that is able to play defense without fouling. Some other positives is that Iowa can be exploited for offensive rebounds and with the graduation of Aaron White the Hawkeyes don't generate a lot of fouls. Everything else though isn't so good as if the Hawks don't simply overpower Nebraska with their shooting they are capable of smothering a turnover prone Husker squad like they did to Purdue on the road.
The Huskers will win B1G games. It's just not going to be this one.
Prediction: Iowa 80 - Nebraka 64
