An important win.  Admire Connie for sticking to her rules and expecting everyone to comply.  I hope what Penn St. looked like tonight will not be Nebraska next year.

Great to see playing time for the young players.  Romeo will attract a lot of attention but may get more playing time if T. Laudermill keeps missing shots.  Chandler Smith looks like a player despite the bricks at the free throw line.  Havers did some nice things offensively and battled inside but is so easily overpowered on the glass.  Cady deserves credit for playing without a break until taken out late in the game.  She is the "rock" of the NU team.

Purdue is next, a win there could be huge.  That Rutgers, Maryland trip will be a tough one.  The Scarlet Knights are quick and athletic with size inside.  Just the type of team that hurts NU.

Enough of my ramblings.  13-3 is not too bad.

After watching this game on dvr there were a few things I didn't pick up on while sitting in the stands and some of the things that I did, were re-affirmed.

The good:

Chandler Smith and Jasmine Cincore are going to be very good players if they can stay out of boot camp.

Natalie Romeo is good at shooting the three ball.

Brandi J. took her demotion of starting, to not starting. like the trooper she is!

Not starting threw both Rachel and Hailie Sample's games off.

The not so good:

Yori acting like a 12 year old throwing a temper tantrum on the sideline because someone entered Rachel into the starting line up instead of Brandi.

Allie H needs to get into the weight room. It was all she could do to keep from getting pushed around by the PSU big girls.

The phrase "Romeo, oh Romeo where for art thou Romeo" will start to get old if it hasn't already.

Glad we have Emily Cady's leadership with us this year. We're going to miss that kid more than anyone realizes next year.

Get Emily Wood into blow out games like this, at least for a few minutes!

I usually watch the big screen during the introductions as they show a close-up shot of the bench, mostly because of the way Emily C acts as the team is introduced. This game though, it was really entertaining because Natalie Romeo had a hard time trying to contain her excitement and nervousness. She had a grin from ear to ear and could not keep her butt on the chair.

In spite of the injury issues, this team could easily be 15-1 instead of 13-3. Now that the boot drama is over (please tell me it is over for good), hopefully we can get some of these young players more game experience. First time in a while Rachel hasn't played all 40. I thought that to myself when I heard she wasn't starting. Do you think Yori will keep her on the bench Monday as delayed punishment?

Connie was quoted as saying the punishment has been served.

At the opening of BTN's game against PSU, BTN had coach Washington was mic up. and she paid PBA and the Husker fans a big complement by saying that the venue has a great environment so go out and enjoy the moment.
