For those who only knew him as a commentator or who were too young to remember him at all, I strongly recommend David Halberstam's book The Breaks of the Game. His NBA champ Portland Trailblazers of 1977 featuring Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas played the game the way it was intended. More important, he lived an exemplary personal life. RIP Quote

The screamers bug the crap out of me, but Dr. Jack knew the game and I always thought that after listening to him, I understood the situation that much more. God bless him and may he RIP. Quote
