I actually thought it was more similar to what CF described. Maybe it was transfer players like Pettaway and Pitchford. Or maybe I'm just off on this one...

I should quantify that....any incoming ELIGIBLE players.

Does Biggs playing this year really mean much? To me, might result in a couple extra wins. Will hold up a scholarship an extra year. But I don't think it will affect recruiting in the big scheme of things. I'm okay with him redshirting - we might look at it in 3 years and be thrilled he did.

There are potential benefits to this. Depends on how good he ends up being for the most part. Will we be recruiting well enough to wish the ship was cleared? Too hard to know these answers now. Wonder how this works wirth class balancing?

I think it also helps him with his academics.

He did go to 3 JUCO's before he got here.

Not that this in itself is bad, but it might help him to get his schooling all lined up and in good shape so he can graduate with some type of degree.
