Bugeaters1 Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 I think the defensive change has worn them out. It's a forty-minute game! Absolutely a lot of what happened. Yeah the Huskers couldn't stay in the zone had to go man up. Quote
Row6Seat10 Posted March 24, 2013 Author Report Posted March 24, 2013 HOOPER COMES ALIVE! And the Huskers take over! 2:00 minutes left and we're up 71-59! Quote
Noah121 Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Huskers win it! A&M is next, on Monday night! It's going to be a tough game, but we can do it. Quote

Bugeaters1 Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 On the post game Smallwood said that all they had practiced was zone. They didn't have a man package. The reason for the zone was that UTC was so big inside and that Auburn had beat them with a zone when UTC shot 4/31 from 3 Quote

The reason for the zone was that UTC was so big inside and that Auburn had beat them with a zone when UTC shot 4/31 from 3 I heard Smallwood say that. The main reason I was thinking that is I'd never seen them sag off in the post so hard in the man. Made me think it was practiced a bit. Quote
trickey Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 I watched this game (however I have only watched a few of the women's past games...so I am not really familiar with their play nor the different tournament rules.) I have a few questions... Do they throw the ball to the other team that often....or even 1/2 that often on a regular basis? I hope to learn this was an anomaly. Why do we get to play Texas A&M on their on floor!?! Quote

Why do we get to play Texas A&M on their on floor!?! I think the turnovers were a bit of anomaly. Moore had the best assist to turnover ratio in the conference this year and I think like maybe #22 in the nation. She had a couple bad ones this game. Maybe nerves? Dunno. Teams bid for hosting and A&M got one. Nebraska will soon be bidding for their own in that new arena, just like volleyball will now that they get The Bob. No more hosting in Omaha FTW! Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Maybe Smallwood was sandbagging us a bit then. Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Is there vdieo of the post game pressers any where? Quote
hoop_head Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Maybe Smallwood was sandbagging us a bit then. If they practiced that set prior to game prep for the mocs then I don't think it's really sandbagging. I'd like to think the staff might be up for a little gamemanship though! Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 I meant that if they did practice it and Smallwood says the didn't. That's what I was trying to say. Quote

I hear you, my point was that I *think* that Smallwood was referring to game prep for the mocs when she said they didn't practice it. Which could be exactly correct. Which makes sense. Going into a potential game vs. an A&M team with strong guard play and Bone down low, you might not be able to sit back in that zone. Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Agreed. One would think that they will man up. Also do you think the plan with the zone was to rest the players ? Quote

Save the legs in the interest of the tourney. Short bench all year, magnified by losing our only real post presence. I like the fact Yori was looking ahead (IMO). Maybe they worked that set even earlier in the year thinking tOSU or another team might force it with dominant play down low. Quote
