So many clutch plays today and all weekend - and from so many different players. Nothing like having several key contributors each day to keep the dugout happy. NU showcasing its depth on the mound and at the plate this weekend like few NU teams in recent memory.

That Anglim catch in the 8th gets my play of the game, though. We did not have him positioned well, but he just went and made a play that probably saved a run ... and cold off the bench to boot.

Winning 4 games in a row breaking a tie or coming from behind in the 8th or later is simply next to impossible. Then throw in that we scored the go ahead run in the 4 games on a passed ball, a ground out, a sac fly, and an error -- none of them with a hit -- and the odds might be better to win Powerball. Simply unreal how mentally tough we've become after such a rough opening weekend in that category. I love a team that makes the other team pay for mistakes and forces the other team to make plays with constant pressure.

I think GCU's jackwagon antics may have sparked something for NU. 😂

I don't think it's possible to overstate how hard it looked to be for this team to go 7-3 for these first 3 weekends, considering how many new faces we have and the level of talent that left via the draft after last season, plus an injury to a key everyday player. 6 true road wins already against teams that I'm confident will be Top 100 RPI teams -- and hopefully quite a bit higher than that -- will have some staying power on the team sheet for the selection committee.

The B1G may be very top heavy again, but I feel confident we're going to be in the mix for the league title. Time to rack up some wins at Haymarket Park.
