Cazzie22 Posted November 25, 2023 Report Posted November 25, 2023 We have to get out of the gate. Defensive lapses early have cost us in both losses. Again, I thought the bench gave us some good minutes. Our three point reliance needs to include better shot selection and better shooters taking those shots. I think our post players made 4 but our wings continue to struggle. Quote
Huskerfanzzz Posted November 25, 2023 Report Posted November 25, 2023 I thought they looked unprepared both games. Slow starts like this are going to be an issue moving forward. I also think the rotation she is using right now isn’t helping. There are times when the line up just doesn’t make much sense. But I trust Coach Williams, so I have to believe there is a reason certain people are in at certain times. I liked the effort I saw in the 2nd half, and I think once they figure out how to come out like that, things will start to fall into place. Quote

Bugeaters1 Posted November 25, 2023 Report Posted November 25, 2023 Okay, here is the correct +/- stats. https://storage.googleapis.com/huskers-com-prod/2023/11/25/24T63KGDQOJdG3Y1ZAT9sLUyQiJJJug52JZGpF5Y.pdf 12dozen 1 Quote
12dozen Posted November 25, 2023 Author Report Posted November 25, 2023 Only 3 Huskers with positive +/- minutes (the Kendals and Petrie). Looks like if you spent time on the court during the first half TCU runs, you finished minus. Coley had a nice stat line. I don't recall the last time she played 21 minutes. Coach must like what she is seeing. Quote
All About the Corn Posted November 25, 2023 Report Posted November 25, 2023 I do not think Coley has ever gotten that many minutes. Maybe she has finally turned a corner and found her place with this team. Quote
Huskerfanzzz Posted November 27, 2023 Report Posted November 27, 2023 I’m not sure why Darian White is waiting so long to get going. Perhaps she’s trying to run the offense and get others open for a little too long…? She has shown several times already that she can create opportunities for herself, so I wish she would have done that in the first half, rather than passing to people who weren’t shooting well. As an example, White had the ball with 40 sec left, down by 6, and she passed to Shelley who hucked up an off balance 3, after not hitting a 3 all game long. I would have rather had White attack the rim and try to get a quick 2 and maybe draw the foul. I also wonder why Nissley didn’t play more. There is nothing that Krull is doing that deserves the minutes she is getting. These are just some thoughts I had. Quote

At some point you have to guard that person. Reminds me of today's ballgame against CSF, their Max Jones avg 16.2 ppg yet scored 30 in Lincoln! Some times it's bad defense while other times it's supreme shot making ability. Quote
