Huskerpapa Posted November 27, 2016 Report Posted November 27, 2016 A few of us believe Ed is sort of like Dennis Rodman. He is somewhat undersized, but has many intangibles that makes him successful in the paint. But if you want to compare him to a former Husker player, he is comparable to Andre Smith. Andre finished his career at UNL in 80-81. He was listed at 6'7" and weighed 215lbs as a senior. He was certainly undersized but the dude could ball. And oh, he was from Chicago. I am pretty certain that Ed would take Andre's Husker career stats, specifically the scoring piece. What do you think? jayschool 1 Quote
HB Posted November 27, 2016 Report Posted November 27, 2016 Good call. Size and appearance-wise I like it. Andre was a great player. Ed is considerably more athletic, although Andre was pretty quick. Andre was just a really good basketball player. He played in the era of plodding big guys, and he out-quicked them at every turn. Quote
jayschool Posted November 27, 2016 Report Posted November 27, 2016 I was thinking the same thing watching the Dayton game. At 6-7, Andre could get his shot off against nearly anyone, and his shot was a layup. Great comparison. Quote
HuskerBB Posted November 27, 2016 Report Posted November 27, 2016 That is a pretty good comparison. Similar size but both played bigger than their physical stature. I think Andre was more skilled offensively than Ed - certainly at this point in their careers, but there are certainly similarities in their games. On thing that I don't think is similar - Andre was maybe one of the "dirtiest" players we have had at Nebraska - but in kind of a good natured way. Many times he would give a guy a kind of a cheap shove and then just laugh when the guy retaliated and got called for a foul. He had a real knack for getting a lick in when the refs were not looking - of course only 2 refs back in those days :). Quote

New huskers fan Posted November 28, 2016 Report Posted November 28, 2016 I just hope he learns to pass out of the post when teams collapse on him Sent from my SM-T817V using Tapatalk Quote
Dean Smith Posted November 30, 2016 Report Posted November 30, 2016 The Rodman I remember didn't post strong, didnt demand the ball because he would rather someone else shoot it so he could try to get a rebound. But he ran the floor quite a bit better than Ed has shown so far. Quote
