Tip-off between the Huskers (4-11, 0-3 Big Ten) and the Spartans (11-4, 1-1 Big Ten) is set for 6 p.m. Nebraska and Michigan State are two of the most inexperienced teams in the Big Ten this season. The active Husker roster has combined for 140 career starts - the same number of total starts by MSU seniors Tori Jankoska (96) and Branndais Agee (44). Seven other Spartans have combined for 82 additional starts. Nebraska is led by 6-4 sophomore forward Jessica Shepard, who is averaging a double-double with 18.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. A first-team All-Big Ten performer as the conference’s freshman of the year in 2015-16, Shepard had 26 points and six rebounds in last season’s 73-66 win over then-No. 17 Michigan State. Shepard was the only Husker to manage double figures in Wednesday’s 93-49 loss to No. 3 Maryland in Lincoln. Jankoska, who joined Shepard on the preseason All-Big Ten team for 2016-17, leads Michigan State in scoring (21.2 ppg), rebounding (7.8 rpg) and steals (1.9 spg). She was the only Spartan to manage double figures in Wednesday’s 66-54 loss at Purdue, finishing with 16 points. She was held to three points in last season’s loss to the Huskers in Lincoln. Not much good to come out of this game. Two steps forward the last couple of games, one gigantic step backwards in this one! It looked as though they came out with a defeatist attitude from the get go. We're going to struggle to win another game if they continue to play way they performed tonight. Just a horrible lack of hustle. I lost count on how many times we got beat down the court. Terrible effort on the boards. I can't remember one good boxout tonight. No communication on either end of the court. End of the first quarter we're in a 2-3 zone and Ramaceri's playing man to man. Player of the game was Grace Mitchell, although she only had 5 points and playing out of position she held her own on the defensive end. Going forward I just think you got to play Hannah and Nicea huge minutes from here on out as they seem to be our only guards that will drive the ball to the hoop.

This tweet allegedly had severe consequences for Minnesota head football coach Tracy Claeys, who was fired today.

#12 on the court #1 when proving why a kid with a great attitude and outlook is good for your team! The following article featuring Emily was published in Saturday's Salina Journal Wood flourishes at Nebraska
-
Ashley Joens never crossed my mind when we were talking to them. These Iowa fans were from somewhere close to where Verbeek plays high school and had seen her actually play. Hence, why I think their opinion of her is pretty high. Reminded me of a few years back when there was an Nebraska all-state player who sort of went under the radar when recruiting came along by the name of Jordan Hooper.
-
Forgot to mention it yesterday, but our seats were in front of a group that traveled over from somewhere around the Sioux City area and they informed us that in their opinion, when the Huskers received the verbal from Ashtyn Verbeek a few weeks ago they were disappointed that Iowa didn't get her. In their opinion the Huskers scored the best 2018 player to come out of Iowa.
-
I tell you Alexa Kastanek has got to be second guessing her decision of choosing to go to Iowa and keeping their bench warm. I think she might have got in today for a whole 30 seconds. K Doyal will be good but as we all know she would have been better if she had a red uniform.
-
Best showing of the year so far even if it was a loss. Turnovers hurt us today got to get that number down starting Tuesday. Game by game getting better. Think maybe that difficult non-conference schedule might have helped to get us to this point. Still sloppy on the defensive end but really glad to see the Huskers mix up the defenses and throw a 2-3 zone on them! And it proved to be successful as they struggled against it. Really like the never say die attitude that the Huskers played with! I think what hurt us most from winning this game is when Allie picked up her 4th foul and had to sit late in the game. Hannah's proving why she needs to be in the line-up on a regular basis! She had another great stat line today. Four kids in double figures scoring wise today! Be nice to have that every game from here on out. I think we surprised their coaches and fan base as well, as the feeling I got listening to their post game show was they expected to win by double digits. Got to see and catch up with one of my favorite Huskers from a long time ago in Kate Galligan!

Just wondering if anyone else is heading to Iowa City? We're in Des Moines now, but wouldn't mind finding out where other fans tickets are so we can sit with somewhere close together when we go to buy our seats. Went there three years ago and got put in with a bunch of Iowa fans, one was Disterhoft's oldman and he didn't particularly appreciate us sitting near him rooting against his kid. Thank God we had Hooper and Tee go off in that game but I digress. Hope this road trip goes better than the last did a few weeks ago down I-80. If I can I'll check this thread when we get close to the arena.

Not sure I've ever seen a more uninspired Nebraska team play in a bowl game than what we're seeing in the Music Bowl, the first half anyway. Hopefully someone lights a fire under their butts the second half! !
