I hope the media is able to get a lot of information from the two scrimmages this week. That should tell us more about this team.

Is Fred (and Matt) building our next team with freshmen as the foundation?? I think the possibility is there. Consider: Andre = 6'10" center with a 7'4" wingspan that likes to play defense and rebound Woods = 6'5" combo guard (was a Top 150 player as a sophomore but was down-graded for not playing summer ball) Breidenbach = 6'10" center/power forward (plays for one of the top high school programs and is rated anywhere from Top 53 to not being in the Top 150) McGowens = 6'6" shooting guard/small forward -- rated as a 5-star player Traudt = 6'8" perimeter/power forward -- rated as a 4-star player with potential to be a 5-star = 5 other scholarships available (I hope for 2 or 3 more freshmen and 2 juco's /transfers and maybe have one open scholarship for that late transfer) I like that we are starting this group with two good options at the center position -- when were we ever this strong at this position (most years we didn't have even one) If we get McGowens (and I'm already counting him in -- I can't help myself), then I think we get Traudt. He will see what Fred is building and that he 'fits' this style perfectly. He is a Nebraska boy. He grew up a Husker fan. I think we get him. And these players help us get other top-rated players. And the ball keeps rolling, and rolling, and rolling our way. GBR!!!!

Has anyone heard anything about practices this week? I know practices have just begun and its too early to make any definitive judgements about players but 'I am dying' for any bits of Husker Basketball info that I can get. What have you heard???
-
I would like to see Breidenbach and Traudt paired together in two or three years. I think they would really compliment one another.
-
Are things starting to go our way?? Is it possible?? Is Nebraska basketball starting to 'turn the corner'?? Could it be?? Are Top-150 freshmen players committing to the Huskers?? 5-Star McGowens commits to the Huskers!! 4-Star Traudt commits t the Huskers We could have a young core group that would include: 6'-10" Eduardo Andre and 6'-10" Wilhelm Breidenbach in the paint, 6'9" Traudt on the perimeter, and 6'5" Elijah Woods and 6'6" McGowens as combo guards. Plus, at least six scholarships will open up in two years. Fred and Matt will recruit the depth and 'missing pieces' we need to add to this core group. IS IT POSSIBLE?? CAN NEBRASKETBALL TURN THE CORNER?? CAN WE COMPETE FOR THE BIG 10 CONFERENCE TITLE?? CAN WE COMPETE AT THE BIG DANCE?? I say yes!!! It is a long time overdue for good things to happen to Nebraska basketball. Let the good times start to roll!! I drink the Kool-Aid. I believe the groundwork will be laid for a championship-type team. Go Big Red!! Go Fred!! Go Matt (we need you)!!!

If Keisei Tominaga's junior college doesn't play basketball this winter, Keisei should come in as a sophomore in eligibility and have 3 years to play at Nebraska. Isn't that right???
-
13. Finish in the top 8 of the BIG
-
When will we get a report on our players returning to Lincoln to begin summer workouts?
-
I think Jacob Hickman is who you are referencing.
-
Don't you just love all the possible line-ups we can have with this 'new' team? I can't wait for the season to begin!!
-
I would substitute Mayen for Yvan. I believe he is better skilled offensively and a match-up problem for most teams.
-
I like to drink the Kool-Aid. I believe we have the talent, versatility, and depth to vault to the top half of the conference this year. This is my overview of the team. Point Guard/Primary Ball Handlers: Dalano Banton -- Primary ballhandler regardless of position Trey McGowens -- Combo Guard Kobe Webster -- Combo Guard Wings/Perimeter Players: Teddy Allen Kobe King Shamiel Stevenson Thor Thorbjarnarson Also capable of playing this position: Dalano Banton Trey McGowens Kobe Webster Stretch 4/Power Forward: Shamiel Stevenson -- Stretch 4 Derrick Walker -- Power Forward Lat Mayen -- Stretch 4 Also capable of playing this position: Dalano Banton Teddy Allen Thor Thorbjarnarson Center/Defend the Rim: Yvan Quedraogo Adama Sonoga (please) Also capable of playing this position: Derrick Walker Lat Mayen -- Stretch 5 ?? Dalano Banton -- Stretch 5 ?? We have a talented and versatile group of guards/wings; stretch 4's and power forwards; and big men in the paint. And they can shoot and MAKE free-throws. I look forward to the season.

With Sonoga, we get to the NCAA tournament next year -- and the following year we win two games in the NCAA tournament. Sweet 16 Baby!!! Drink the Kool-Aid.
-
Here is my best guess. I know Fred likes 'positionless' players, but my 2-deep (starter listed first) would be the following: Point Guard: Dalano Banton 6'8" Kobe Webster 6'0" Shooting Guard: Teddy Allen 6'5" Kobe King 6'4" (I am assuming he will be eligible) Small Forward: Shamiel Stevenson 6'6" Thorin Thorbjarnarson 6'6" Power Forward: Derrick Walker 6'6" Lat Mayen 6'9" (My Darkhorse pick also -- I expect him to remind me of Roby and Copeland) Center: Adama Sonoga 6'10" (I am assuming -- hoping -- we get him) Yvan Ouedraogo 6'7" I know I am putting players in only one spot and many of these players will play multiple positions. I can hardly wait. Go away coronavirus.
