  1. JBD...but that isn't much of a choice. Almeida is bad.
  2. I'd give long thought to benching Andre outside of 5-10 minutes a game to spell Ubel and playing small...especially if Shields is as good as they say
  3. Talley looked much quicker. He's going to have to give us 35 minutes a game. Gallegos looked athletic and his shot fell. Hopefully that doesn't prove to be a fluke. Parker is okay. Nothing special. Almeida is horrible. Rivers is bigger but he has to be a threat offensively. Need him to shoot better than 1 for 6. Vucevic is frail thin Menke was a walk on for a reason Peltz...the same...but he'll be serviceable for spot minutes. Ubel plays hard. Will do well against teams like Southern. Should be no more than a Big 10 role player though.
  4. Watching Almeida is pure torture
  5. You should add....wait and evaluate in the spring for potential options too. That'd be my bet.
  6. People have only been saying this since last season. This isn't any surprise. Miles inherited a dumpster fire. Be patient.
  7. I thought the grading was kind last year. I'd say do the grading based on what we see. Don't adjust it because it's year 1. If we improve in the coming years, which I expect us too, that will take care of the grading as well.
  8. As far as class balancing is concerned....next year you are looking at: Seniors: Rey Gallegos Juniors: Deverell Biggs David Rivers Sophomores: Sergei Vucevic (sp?) Benny Parker Shavon Shields Walter Pitchford Terrance Petteway Freshmen: Nick Fuller Nathan Hawkins Tai Webster
  9. Gonna be dicey at point no matter who is there this year.
  10. I'd agree in general that the better we play, the easier it is to recruit. I just have doubts as to how big of an impact he could have this year. I think he's likely the best option for us...but we'll be bad with or without him, especially in conference play.
  11. I view it as potential down the line. Let's be honest....we are going to be bad this year regardless of what happens. If Biggs plays...maybe we win 12-13 games instead of 10-11. Redshirting allows Biggs to get time in the system build experience and that could payoff down the line. There's certainly a chance it doesn't. But there's also a chance he can have an impact on us the next two years where a couple game difference could actually mean something. Everyone knows this is a transition year. Why waste a year of eligibility on a seemingly talented player during one.
  12. Belief and hope can be powerful things
  13. Hoping for a redshirt. We are going to be bad regardless. Redshirt him and build for the future. If Webster beats him out...so be it...we are better off for it the next two years. We've been bad for too long and it's not changing this year. Don't throw a year away of a potential starter/contributor down the road from teams with potential.
  14. It kind of still does. Save Biggs. No need for him this year
  15. Did he say Rey was our main shooter? Sobering thought.
  16. There were plenty of rumors about us getting blown out by them last year too. And it makes sense looking back at last season
  17. 8-5 Non-Con 3-13 Conference 0-1 Tourney 11-19 Overall
  18. Yes he will play. But more so because of our exisiting situation than his actual talent level.
  19. Offers do too....guys with the offer list that this guy has are solid players more often than not.
