  1. I think we need him to be in between. Obviously, the more the better...but if he can get us 15-20mpg and average 6-7 as an outside threat, he'll have done his job
  2. I think Brase will be a warm body...but McVeigh is already going to lose time because of Copeland, Roby's extra year of experience and Nana and Palmer. If you add Brase to the mix who can play some time at a stretch 4...that's even less opportunity for McVeigh.
  3. I think our defense took a dive because of the conference season, not because of Gill.
  4. Don't see McVeigh consistently getting 20 mpg (again...assuming we get Brase) and don't see Gill at zero. But I do think Gill is going to be one of the last guys in the rotation.
  5. That's good to hear on Palmer though. Outside of the grade rumors, this is the first real substantial report I've heard/read on him.
  6. History tells us someone will be hurt/not eligible/transfer/etc On the surface right now...have to think Gill is an odd man out. Duby and Taylor will get time, but in limited roles IMO. And unless Jack suddenly gets more reliable and consistent from the arc....I think he's going to struggle to find more than 6-8 minutes a game too (assuming we get Brase)
  7. With Allen, pass on Maye. He won't play much next year and we are in on guys who are better next year. Take guys that will play next year
  8. Don't think it was the minutes that wore him down
  9. He wasn't exactly wrong
  10. Think he's a great role player. He's not a starter on a good team
  11. He needs to improve. But his ceiling is higher than anyone else we have. Unless Nana comes in as a legit stud, no one else should beat him out as the 3
  12. AFAIC...4 of the 5 starters are locked up. It's just a matter of who out of Taylor, Gill, Palmer, Allen and Nana emerges at the two. My guess would be Palmer as of now. Watson, Roby, Copeland and Jordy are either too good or have too high of ceilings not to start.
  13. Never said it did. Just said that he's had more than enough time to build a better program than what we have currently. And I'll agree that if it is to happen...Allen fills a need that was going to be a big variable in the equation
  14. The one thing that gives me hope is that we don't need either one to replace Webster. We have enough options to somewhat absorb the loss. We simply need them to fill a roll. If we can get 7-8 a game from them individually as an outside threat, they change our landscape
  15. Think Jack can still play the 3 or 4 so there will be minutes there. Evan and Gill will be in direct competition with him
  16. Be positive....that's fine..but be realistic too. I'll be the first to admit...he's got some tools. There are some pieces here. He's done a good job bringing in guys. That can't be argued. But I think we've seen enough to stay balanced too. Supporting them and being irrational are not mutually exclusive. Rooting every game for a team does not mean you have to have a distorted view of what they actually are. I won't argue with anyone who says that we have the apparent pieces now to be a good team. Can't subscribe to the theory that it's a foregone conclusion though.
  17. My bad.....we've been terrific!
  18. He's had the time. Whether he does or not remains to be seen. Certainly doesn't have any more excuses. The players are there and if they aren't...it's on him.
  19. Ironically, Gill, who, Allen is aware of, and a reason for coming here, may end up the casualty of Allen's presence. Simply have to have Allen or Akenten be a guy who is ready to go right away. Individually, again...we'll have some very nice components next year. Whether they fit together as a team and the right buttons get pushed will be the question.
  20. Or like he did the last 3 years? its fair to have major doubts/concerns at this point. It's also fair to say that he did a great job today as well. Allen is a hell of a pickup. It doesn't erase the last few years though
  21. Unless we know something about palmer and hill being ready for next year, I'd put maye 4th behind Hans, Ernst and dube
