  1. We had pretty favorable matchups in those games this year
  2. Considering we didn't deliberately schedule one of those games....my point is kind of proven. Yes...some teams you will always know will be low. Personally, I would never attempt to schedule any games against MEAC or SWAC teams for this reason. But aside from that it's still hard to control at times.
  3. Again..without crystal balls...thats awefully tough to do. It didnt just have to be the conference challenge...the league struggled the rest of the non-con too. Like I said the other day...its bad luck.
  4. Its an accident. Ohio State wasnt a preseason quad 1 team. Minnesota and Wisconsin were. Short of giving the conference a crystal ball...what do you do?
  5. Scheduling was ok....performance hurt it more than anything
  6. Officially, yes, but they were likely in after yesterday
  7. Tyler Cook testing NBA waters, no agent yet
  8. That's more of a one off though. You are going to eliminate a lot of quality teams on the other hand. Saying you have to have a winning conference record is no different than relying solely on the RPI or Quad 1 wins or etc. Things are not equal across all playing fields. Things have to be interpreted.
  9. I get the outside view on our position. We pass the eyeball test if you compare us to an Oklahoma or Bama or St Bonaventure or TCU or K-State or Missouri. But the metrics just don't add up, at least not the metrics that seem to matter the most. The system is flawed....but it's not a Nebraska bias. There are good teams every year that are penalized and average teams that benefit. It's nothing new. It's just more relevant this year because we actually wanted to play like a big kid at times. We got deal a ridiculous run of bad luck. Our intent in playing in Orlando was to play quality competition. As it turns out, we lose one game we shouldn't have and we get stuck with a (approx.) 200 and 325 level opponents. We didn't intend on Jackson from Maryland being out for the year. Or for Reaves to miss 4 games for Penn State where they went 1-3, likely being the difference between them dancing and not. We didn't intend on MInnesota being a top 15 team and losing 2-3 starters and falling apart. We didn't intend on the Big 10 completely bombing it's non-con schedule. It sucks...but those things were out of our control. Nothing we did, but we just didn't get very many opportunities, nor did we take very good advantage of them when we did. I think we are an NCAA caliber team on the court, but understand how we might not be on paper. I hope the committee sees that. But I also understand why/how they would want to take the human element out of it and base it as much on paper as they can. We just picked a lousy year to be decent.
  10. There’s just too much of a difference between leagues to enforce this and still get to 68 teams, while trying to get the best in
  11. Dont think theres anything likely about it. Roby would be terrific at the 4. But losing Copeland likely means we are either playing McVeigh and Jordy 15 minutes more per game than what they played this year. Thats not a good thing. Yes a grad transfer is an option...but we havent exactly hit home runs with our grad transfer posts. Copeland's length and athleticsm is a big variable for us this year and we dont have anyone, even in his mold, that is there to fill that role
  12. Probably. But not because we are paying. Because we've been so bad the last few years (outside of this year) while we were cheating
  13. Think Florida State is pretty firmly in. Dont think one can make a legit case for us on them. The rest, we can
  14. Tied up 19 seconds left. USM ball
  15. Considering the rest of our front court depth....we can't afford to lose Cope right now. Actually think Palmer would be easier for us to replace than Copeland
  16. No. Increase the stipend or amend the scholarship to account for cost of living but they shouldn't get paid.
  17. Alot of Notre Dame's rise is the fact that they got Colson back and are getting healthy as a team. Had Colson never got hurt...they'd be firmly in.
  18. Coming from someone who was fine with him being let go last year....there is absolutely no way whatsoever that you can legitimately fire him now. The lousy thing....as mentioned earlier....was the corner Eichorst painted us into. No renewal the first year....that's fine. Put's him on notice. But then after the second year? He needed to be fired or extended after last year. Now Moos has to give him an extension otherwise it is recruiting suicide, regardless of what Moos thinks about him. And if things fall apart next year...we have to fire him after just giving him an extension. Hoping beyond hope that the team stays together and we perform well next year otherwise it gets real ugly.
  19. SE needed to shit or get off the pot last year with Miles and his contract. As soon as you brought him back, it should’ve been extended. I get the one year, the second year is bullshit. It puts us (UNL) in a terrible spot now.
  20. Always had a bigger issue with St Bonnie getting an at large over us (assuming it is an at large) over one of the power 5 type schools
  21. No kidding. Finally put a decent product on the floor and can’t buy a break
