    Downsides is that it does somewhat hold the schools hostage from a recruiting perspective. You can't really fill the spot until basically July 1. Or if you do, you are probably pushing someone else out. Kinda just think the player should be accountable for his decision.

    Would speculation have been better? If everyone knew the score as you indicate (and I do believe that everyone knew the score), then why put on a false face.
