  1. I don't even remember - who else was recruiting her beside Illinois and Nebraska? I'm sure there were others, but did she have a list of 5 or so that she had narrowed down?
  2. I will confess - I do not follow volleyball much at all, so I really didn't know anything about this young lady. However, after reading all the comments and the article above, I think this woman, this COMPETITOR, can come in and have a very positive impact this season. Hey, maybe this could start a trend of senior VB players joining the basketball team once VB season is over. I know at least one of those Rolfzen twins was a decent basketball player.
  3. I think Minnesota might struggle a bit this year in Big10 play.
  4. I'm wondering the same thing. Being an experienced and successful college athlete, she will provide some leadership to this young squad. She definitely has the work ethic to be successful, it's just a matter of how much of an impact she can make in one short year off the bench. And if we wind up having foot-drama again, we will need someone that can give us some decent minutes. She will certainly be a crowd favorite, and possibly a nightmare to a few Big10 teams since they are not familiar with her as a basketball player.
  5. T was definitely streaky on offense, but her D was always so good! She was fun to watch.
  6. I was wondering the exact same thing. And I am A-OK with that.
  7. Maybe OSU will soften them up for us.
  8. Just saw that Alisha Gray, sophomore guard at North Carolina, is transferring. Some speculate she may be able to play right away due to goings on at UNC. Think Yori would have any interest (or room) for her?
  9. Does OSU play UConn before we play them?
  10. Words that jump out at me: "swagger", "explosively athletic", "fearless".
  11. I really like that we are playing at UConn with our mostly young team this season. What a tremendous experience for them to learn from and build upon. I'm certain the coaches will also come away from that game with some ideas. No matter what the final score will be, I only see positive things for the players and coaches coming from that game. Don't you suppose Geno would like to play some different teams? The conference they are in is not challenging to them at all, and they play Stanford and ND every year already. We have had some recent consistent success and have some high quality recruits - it's time to take the next step and be a top 10 presence. I hope we schedule UConn every year! In fact, let's get them in the Big 10! Ok - that's a reach.
  12. Indiana? WTH
  13. Did Yori recruit Ostrander out of HS?
  14. Copies of the letters: http://www.news-gazette.com/sports/illini-sports/womens-basketball/2015-05-18/letters-regarding-ui-womens-basketball-program.htm This guy needs to be fired and banned from coaching. All players should be allowed to transfer and eligible immediately. This is horse sh!t.
  15. I'm sure there were many issues relating to this young woman's depression. I found this to be a very good read. http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/12833146/instagram-account-university-pennsylvania-runner-showed-only-part-story?ex_cid=espnFB
  16. She must be a heck of a student, too, in order to balance two demanding varsity sports at a place like NU. It's not like the VB or WBB teams are slouches.
  17. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/women-s-basketball-huskers-alicia-ostrander-joining-team-after-senior/article_5d19c91e-f4da-11e4-9c30-8fa88554c653.html Are we losing a post player?
  18. Can't quite figure KState out. I think they are maxed on scholarships now with both Pages (2 players left so the Pages could be on scholly), but they seem to be in the hunt for about 3 transfers (the Canadian twins have visited and a girl from USC). Who else is leaving? I think that is why this girl decommitted, no room for her. They seem to be recruiting 6' and taller.
  19. This gal just decommitted from KState. ESPN has her at #44 in the class of 2016, #11 PG. http://espn.go.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/191044/gabrielle-gregory
  20. Maybe the tweeter's mistake is that we actually signed her 6-10 dunk-machine teammate who also shoots 70% from 3-point-land.
  21. That's a lot of pressure she endured as a 16 year old. Would be hard to go against dad's wishes.
  22. Feel kind of bad for that younger one. Something tells me she didn't necessarily want to go to KState but dad insisted. Isn't she a bit younger because she skipped a grade or two? It's interesting to read the KState boards. They put quite the spin on things. All in all, we are better off without them and the drama that came with them. And the few minutes that Kaylee did play, I was not impressed at all. Too slow on defense, couldn't get her rhythm shooting, looked lost. I guess that's what happens when you have to spend most of your practice time trying to get back into shape while your teammates are working hard on offense and defense.
  23. http://m.cjonline.com/sports/2015-04-20/jones-meeks-part-ways-k-state#gsc.tab=0 So which coach leaves to get dad a job ? Red, a coach has already stepped down and they are *searching* for a replacement.
  24. It's official - both Page girls are Wildcats. http://kansasstate.scout.com/forums/2672-women-s-basketball/13803344-welcome-to-k-state-lanie-page?s=173
