What happened to Rachel on the layup?

It appears Sac State only has 3 players above 6 feet tall: 2 that are 6-1 and one that is 6 even. The Hornets attempted 80 3 pointers in the game, making 20 of them. It will be interesting to see how many points Anigwe has against us. I'd like to think we can hold her to under 20, guess we will see.

Looking a bit ahead to the Cal game - Kristine Anigwe, a 6'4" freshman, scored 43 points in their win against Sac State. She played 24 minutes in their 117-99 win. Also had 12 rebounds and 4 fouls. http://www.calbears.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30100&ATCLID=210368098

Me, too. The only thing I would bring up right now is that Jess needs to make sure her hair stays tied up. Really bugs me that she is messing with her hair while the ball is being brought up the court. She used to mess with her hair and sometimes her head band in HS. Drove me nuts. So if that's the only thing I can come up with at this point in the season, then I would say we are on the way to a fun season.

I'm wondering if Maddie might start instead of Clark sometime in the future. Is Clark's knee bothering her? I wondered if some of the girls were ill last night. Theriot looked like she may have had a headache - we noticed she was pushing on her forehead a lot. And my daughter thought she looked really annoyed about something in the first half. Have I mentioned how much I like to watch this team play?

DePaul gave UConn a game last night. Wound up losing by 16, but they were within 9 to start the 4th quarter. DePaul shot 41.3% FG, with 44.8% from 3 (13 3pointers). They were outrebounded 47-27, turned the ball over 16 times compared to UConn's 17. Sounds like they were making their shots early and running on UConn, which maybe rattled UConn for a little bit.

I think you're right about Kalenta not being intimidated. And I thought Havers did some good things, too. Our conditioning isn't where it needs to be yet. Hopefully we shoot better the rest of the season. I think this was a good game to have for our younger players, for everyone really, because they will only get better as we go along. I'm all for scheduling UConn every year, and even throw in a Tennessee or Stanford here or there. Was Washington suited up for this game?

Theriot played well. Romeo was pretty good but I wish her shots would have fallen better. Way too many dumb turnovers. I was worried about that going into this but I expected we would shoot a bit better to help offset some of those turnovers. Didn't happen.

They are shooting just under 57% compared to our 33%.

And missing a ton of shots. Maybe Emily Wood can knock down a 3? Theriot should be shooting more.

We need to keep Theriot on the floor. Our shooting has gone cold. I also think UConn has gotten away with some fouling and some loosy goosy feet moving.

Now we are looking discombobulated.
