  1. Part of me wishes there was only 1 signing period and that it was the first of May for all sports. Not sure I'm such a big believer in early signing. By May 1 a lot of the coaching changes have taken place in the major sports (basketball, football, volleyball). I guess that means you are at a disadvantage for the spring sports, but that is the case anyway even with the early signing periods. Would maybe make it harder on the coaches and recruiting because they wouldn't have those usual early signers locked up, but it may benefit the kids and the parents to wait and see what also comes through for financial aid and academic scholarships before they sign.
  2. I think Kentucky just lost a coach as well. Thought I read somewhere they may only have a roster of 9 or 10 next year.
  3. Has decommitted from Kentucky. Nebraska had been recruiting her.
  4. Why hasn't she signed with someone yet? Looks decent. I would give her a shot. I'm wondering if the other addition could be Jensen from Fremont.
  5. Do you suppose that some of that got a little worse when we joined the Big10, due to a higher travel budget? However, we get a better deal from TV rights, so it was worth the jump.
  6. I don't think we make any money from WBB at NU but the VB team might.
  7. If the rumor about Rylie Cascio Jensen is true (RCJ from here on out), I believe she is around 5'11" and was Shepard's PG in HS.

  9. Just checked her freshman year stats. She was 174 of 395 for 44.1%.
  10. To be honest, I feel like Chatrice should have been a bit further along her sophomore year. She took 566 fga and made 219 of them (38.7%). The second highest volume shooter on the team took 291 shots and made 120 (41.2%). For the season, Illinois as a team took 1916 shots, making 770 of them (40.2%). In other words, Chatrice took 29.5% of her teams' shots (566 of 770), and accounted for 28.4% (219 of 770) of those made shots. Seems to me she takes an awful lot of shots compared to the rest of the team. Maybe that is because of the situation they were in losing so many players before last season. I did not check her freshman stats. I'm assuming she will sit the usual year when she transfers, so maybe her new coach can take that time to develop her more.
  11. One time when I was a student at UNL I was crossing the street and the guy in the car waiting for me to cross yelled "Elephant Butt!!!" really loudly. Maybe I should have sued. Sorry, whatever happened to just having a thick skin? Guess we will wait and see what becomes of the ISU lawsuit. If there really was racial discrimination, then it has no place. However, I have been called names relating to my race and gender on more than one occasion, but I've never felt the need to sue anyone.
  12. Yup, I forgot Darrien.
  13. Heard that Illinois will only have 5 returning players on next year's roster. Hoping that we have a minimum of 6, preferably 7. Could we actually wind up with 10 or fewer on the roster if we don't get all 5 recruits to come in? I'm thinking those that are staying are Allie, Esther, Emily, Rachel, Jess, and Maddie. Three recruits have stated they are still in. Maybes are Natalie and Jasmine (but I'm thinking she's gone)' and the other two recruits. Maybe Ostrander will play. Am I forgetting anyone?
  14. Schools being considered: a few ACC and maybe one from Big 12 and Pac 12 http://www.omaha.com/sports/nebraska-native-chatrice-white-to-transfer-from-illinois-acc-big/article_4d0e2954-031e-11e6-96a1-93adb6f26278.html
  15. Bumping this thread so we can see what other offers Chatrice White, Natalie Romeo, and Jasmine Cincore had.

  17. Wouldn't she have to sit for 2 years if she did? Wonder if she will wind up at Creighton.
  18. I hope this link works. This was an awful lot of luck, but it is still fun to watch! From the USD vs Oregon WNIT game...
  19. Did they lose both of those games?
  20. Do you suppose Coach Williams has said that everything is in-house right now, until final decisions are made? I'm assuming Cincore is gone, but am holding out hope for Romeo. And I think there is a decent chance we still get all of our recruits. At least I'm hoping so.
  21. I think they had one player that missed 3 games. Seekamp also had to sit the first couple because of some NCAA thing, but it wasn't due to injury.
  22. I'm very excited to see what Coach Williams will do with our team. I am hoping for an injury-free season. I would not be surprised at all to see Emily Wood getting some decent minutes. I think Coach Williams brings out the best in her players and they want to play as hard as they can for her. Even if Romeo and/or Cincore stay, I think Wood might see the court in her scheme. Maybe I'm just a little biased.
  23. And they pretty much went injury-free for the entire year. Also, if Seekamp was a little bit off her game, it didn't seem to be too much of a worry because everyone was capable of scoring. Several players got meaningful minutes in games, including true freshmen. I know there was a point in the WNIT championship game where they got down by 5-7 points in the first half, and I was afraid it might start to get away from them. But they played even harder and never let themselves get down emotionally, and won the game in front of a large crowd of Coyote fans.
