  1. 3 blind mice are extra blind today
  2. Some ill advised passing early on. Hopefully that will settle down. Maybe try Wood a bit to see if she can hit a three.
  3. IMO, she should have left a few years ago. I have a gut feeling she may wind up at Creighton.
  4. Saw this 2013 article on Kevin McGuff. Wow - 6 young kids! Cannot imagine having 6 kids and being the head coach of a strong WBB team. http://buckeyextra.dispatch.com/content/stories/2013/12/13/full-court-full-house.html
  5. I think they have that running clock rule in 8 man football in Nebraska. Not sure about larger school classes that play 11 man. There are some pretty below average girls' Bball teams in our state, but I haven't heard of any complaining about lopsided scores. I don't remember the last time class A Omaha Bryan GBB won a game, and I don't think they have come close in any of their games this year. On a side note, kind of interesting that once OPS adopted a higher GPA athlete rule, the OPS girls programs aren't nearly as competitive. However, the Millard and Papio schools have done well.
  6. Interesting read. http://espn.go.com/espnw/sports/article/14795303/how-nevada-rule-made-basketball-unrecognizable-las-vegas
  7. I was thinking the same regarding the Iowa loss. That was a winnable game and we just let it get away. I think the Cal loss is also somewhat haunting. So close in that one battling on the road. We would be 19-7 right now with a very bright outlook had we gotten the win in those two games. The blowout losses are concerning. I expected that from UConn, Maryland, and OSU, but not from Minnie and I definitely didn't see us with some of these slow starts where we have been buried in the first half and then had to play catch-up. It worked for the Creighton game because CU isn't really all that good, especially compared to teams in our conference. Other times it seems we have a decent start and then a lull for several minutes where we miss shots or have dumb turnovers. I suppose that is due to our youth and lack of depth issues due to injury/illness throughout the season. Right now we seem to have a decent rotation. We can sub Jas, Anya, and Burns and feel good about their play. Maddie did some good things yesterday and maybe a few not so good things but she will learn and we will need her athleticism going forward. I thought Washington had a couple of good moves in her few minutes yesterday. Sure wish we could see more of her earlier in the game.
  8. Thought I would bump this thread since we only have 3 games left. If we can win all 3, and that is possible since all 3 are at home, then we wind up 20-9. I had originally thought 21-8 if we could keep everyone healthy. Considering there have been health/injury issues again, we are not too far off from some preseason predictions. I wonder if it might be better if we aren't a top 4 seed in the Big 10 tourney because it would give us the opportunity to play an extra game and put another win on our record.
  9. Michigan Northwestern Michigan State Ohio State Indiana Maryland Nebraska
  10. We might get a home game or two in the WNIT.
  11. And I'm thinking Burns should as well. Much more hustle from her.
  12. Jas needs to start from here on out. Better defender and is scoring some points. She has worked hard and improved immensely.
  13. McGuff is just a really strange looking dude. Almost comic book-like.
  14. Glad someone told Allie to dribble. But then Clark throws a stupid pass.
  15. We are giving them way too much room to shoot, and we are lacking hustle. Hopefully they come out with some fire in the second half. It's looking too easy for Ohio State.
  16. Some really lazy passes. Noticed when Jas was subbed out we went from being down 6 to being down 16. Letting them have lots of 3s. I don't get how they can shoot 3s over Allie.
  17. I think things picked up a bit when Jas came in.
  18. The other thing with that graphic comparing Jess to EDD her freshman year is that Jess is playing in a much tougher conference.
  19. Why the heck can't we get the ball in? Allie is holding onto it way too long.
  20. I wondered about that, too.
  21. Are we really giving them wide open 3s?
  22. Nice...
  23. http://www.scout.com/college/illinois/story/1641487-breaking-josh-whitman-to-be-next-illini-ad Hope that link works.
  24. To me the Big 12 this year is Baylor, Texas, and whatever. I suppose someone could look at the Big 10 and see OSU, Maryland, and whatever. But our middle of the pack teams and even bottom teams are better than the equivalent in the Big 12 IMO.
  25. It's very surprising to me that Creme has KState in the bracket. However, it is entirely possible that KState will lose 4 of their last 5 games (at #8 Texas tonight, home against Texas Tech likely a win, at ISU, home against #4 Baylor, and at #17 Okie State). Assuming they lose 4 of those, they wind up 7-11 in conference and 17-12 overall, which I would think would keep them out of the bracket unless they somehow win the Big 12 tourney (not likely).
