If those top three are all ~10-12ppg and the bottom three ~8-10, that’s a good core of scoring. Not reliant on anyone player to score, but any one of them can have a big night.

I like it and so do the computers. This and subtracting Ulis moves us up two spots to 43 according to Barttorvik.

While I agree it sucks, we’ve seen the precedent that the penalty follows the player. Just like it did with Walker and his issues at Tennessee.

While I don’t think Ulis transferred to sit, I think Lawrence will force him to eventually. His ceiling just seems so much higher. I see our starting lineup eventually settling into Mast, Gary, Williams, Tominaga and Lawrence. First in for Mast is Allick, first in for Gary, Williams or Tominaga is Wilcher, first in for Lawrence will be whoever wins a battle between Ulis and Lloyd. If Rice or Diop can end up pushing Wilcher for playing time at any of those spots, that would be super.

Well if he’s 7’2” and visited Purdue, cross him off the list.

Yeah, on offense we’re pretty interchangeable, with exceptions for “center” and “point guard”. I think attributing a 1-5 role is more meaningful for defensive assignments/capabilities.

Counter argument to the bold: We might have won more than 16 if it weren’t for injuries, and thank god we had the depth to avoid being a 10 win team. We got the bottom half of our rotation some great experience, they showed a lot more than expected and should come back even better this year.

Maybe my memory is wrong but I remember shooting being the primary skill we were recruiting CJ for. He was always going to be purely a 2 guard. Tonje looks like someone who, yes can hit a shot, but also rebound better than his height and be effective as a slasher on the wing. Essentially play the 2-4 and give you flexibility at the other two spots. I know we’ve asked CJ to do that, and it’s been okay, but I don’t know if it’s something we want to keep doing.

He looks like what we wanted Shamiel Stevenson to be.
