Just when you think the rotation is about to shrink, Cale Jacobsen does this. -

Anything but start Morgan. If I had to guess they’re worried he’ll get in foul trouble. He has 5 in 31 minutes so far. -

The middle of each half should be pretty safe vs being in the bonus. But if we’re there and the opponent is trying to expose it we can adjust. From these first two games he’d be the first players who’s minutes I would reduce. -

Meah is 7’1” and had 4 boards in 20 minutes. That’s not great with how poorly both teams were shooting. Morgan had 3 boards in 11 minutes and at least is a threat to shoot from deep. Those minutes need to swap. Meah should play roughly the middle 6 minutes of each half and not be out there in crunch time or when we’re trying to set the pace we want. -

I feel like I felt after the first Minnesota game last year - Does Brice care? Is there locker room cancer? Why are certain players getting the minutes they are? We figured it out well after that game last year. Hoping we can this year too. And it’s earlier in the season, so it could end up being a plus to meet that moment now. -

What was wrong with that guy? I’ve never seen someone hobble quite like that. Was he cramping AND concussed? -

Warren Nolan had us at 214 last year in non-con. I looked there because where I know how to find it fastest. After conference games were factored our overall SOS was 71.

I honestly wonder how much scouting we did and specific game planning vs running our base defense in game one with so many new faces, which would mean doubling the post all the time and leaving the wing/corner wide open. It had to be hard for everybody with how much subbing there was. Often we had just a couple possessions before at least one new face was coming in. Tough to find a rhythm like that. As the rotation tightens the silly turnovers should go down and the efficiency should go up, on both ends. Also as we learn how to set screens again with the new emphasis there, the offense should get smoother. -
Wanted to chime in and say I also have really enjoyed listening. Living out of state it’s great to hear from people close to the program. Keep up the good work, and thank you!

Grand Valley State vs. Nebraska (Exh.)

I think the opponent played a part in our effort yesterday. But the way we play defense makes boxing out a bit more difficult than straight man by having so much space between you and the person you're responsible for boxing out. You have to be very disciplined to know when the shot goes up and keep yourself in front of who you’re guarding. The offense has a bit of an advantage facing the basket and likely knowing the shot is up before the defender, and picking a good angle to get around them. Hopefully as a team we get better at it as the new faces do it more. -

There will be a couple lineups with this team that won’t have the shooting acumen we had last year. I know some on here don’t want him to shoot a three at all, but Gary will need to keep defenses honest and shoot a couple. He shouldn’t be hunting shots but a couple catch and shoots from the corner or wing are what we’ll need. As a team, we looked to be playing slow and reactively rather than anticipating and playing quickly. Saw our ball handlers try to push it from time to time but the other four weren’t getting up to that pace. That speed hopefully comes along a bit more each game. We also played guys that won’t be regular rotation players for ~40 mins. That’s good and bad, good for their experience and motivation, bad for getting time in a game-like setting for our rotation players who are still learning to play together. -
My goodness, I had forgotten that our season started with that.

That’s kind of the point I was trying to get at. He’s not going to Creighton either, so what does one school being better than the other have to do with this?

Is he going to Creighton?
