This is likely unreliable and useless. My point I was trying to establish is that less than 30K people of Mongolian decent lives in the USA. However, our campus and team seems diverse. So maybe that creates a recruiting advantage. Which state has the most Mongolians? Other communities formed by recent Mongolian immigrants include ones in Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. The largest Mongolian-American community in the United States is located in Los Angeles, California.

Yeah...let's not forget this kid. I still think he will be our starting point guard before years end...even if Magic Mike comes here. "I had coaches recruiting me for all different things: point guard, shooting guard, combo guard, wing, whatever,” Lloyd Jr. says. “At Nebraska I’m going to play a lot of point guard. Coach Hoiberg loves how I read the floor, my vision and just kinda my flow in terms of the pace so he really wants to be on the ball a lot next year. In my opinion, I’m a combo guard. But the game is going towards positionless basketball, so at the next level, I can be one through four.” https://quickshare.samsungcloud.com/nIGBccF9BtIW -

Just saying... -
Yeah, I'm leaning towards negativity with this move. But what are you going to do? On the one hand, he will be playing with and against really good talent. On the other hand he is missing invaluable team and cultural building. He has done this before and it has been okay. Sooo. It also sounds possible that three others will be limited or completely out.

Here is the full news conference. Some good information:

Somebody needs to define "hosting" to me. How are we hosting an "event" that is not wholly played at our facility? To me, we arranged three home games. The three other schools agreed to play us here, and then agreed to play each other at different venues. ???

This is going to be an interesting season. I guess it will start with the upcoming trip and practices; but I am of the opinion that competition for playing time, let alone starting positions will last into the early games of the season. Now, ask yourselves, and ask your friends and neighbors, is the competition because we do not yet have elite/standout talent that provides separation from their teammates; or is because we have a good players with significant depth; but no real superstars or NBA level talent? I personally believe we do not have elite talent. We have depth, and that depth can do a lot of things that can help us improve. I think that is a good thing...IF we play as a team, play unselfishly, play hard, have good leadership, maintain a strong culture with high character and effort. I do look at the talent coming back and coming in within our league. We can be better and still not make progress with a significant number of additional wins. BUT, we can win a few that we let get away from us last year, and that may earn us a dance card. My rose-colored glasses are not yet back on, but they are close by. -
Good deal for her. Great to be able to get free undergraduate and post-graduate degrees with perhaps a bit of NIL coin on the side.

YES! Thank goodness. Definitely great news.

You may have to deal with an ad; but this should work...I still get goose bumps. https://omaha.com/bruce-chubick-block/video_7114f467-b2b4-5fe4-875b-ecf80a8a58bb.html

Yes. Likely will have two open. Fans are not concerned at this point. The team also has the benefit of a walk-on or two that earned playing time. Most teams will play with a 7, 8 or 9 player rotation. The other players will only play mop up, or if there is an injury. Last years men's team did get hit by injuries. But then, a strange thing happened. Team culture and player character stepped to the forefront. Arguably the "team" played better down the stretch as players played well and played within their roles. That kinda-sorta brings me back to my original thought. Having a full roster can be a good thing, IF the players all buy in and accept their roles. But man, that has become difficult these days. Players are told from a very early age how special they are. They are stars at every level they have played at. They (and their support group) expect to be played; and when they are not played, or not played in the role that they wish to play in, they are unhappy and perhaps disruptive. Then you have the increased influence of NIL money, transfer portal and social media influencers, and you have headaches aplenty. So getting the right players, who fit the team profile, becomes more important (in my humble mind) than simply filling a scholarship quota. But that again is just my opinion.

He has two, possibly three open scholarships right now.

I also liked this quote; "I look back on a year and I’m like, ‘Holy s***, that was incredible. How can I ever top this?’” Griesel said Wednesday. “And every year it gets better and better. It’s been unbelievable. What’s gonna beat this last year?" It is kinda sorta like living the dream.

I would only respectfully say...ask Coach Hoiberg "what could it hurt?" Perhaps adding that depth could be helpful. But it could also destroy chemistry. When the men's team picked up Bando and Sammy G before last season, it certainly was necessary and productive. That team had specific needs and those needs were filled by the referenced additions. Two of those needs were leadership and attitude. Conversely, the prior years they picked up guards that destroyed team unity. So, to simply pick up players for depth, may not prove beneficial. We need players for specific roles and they need to fit in and play team first basketball. A few of those players are likely out there; but I would much rather go with a shorter bench then to bring in ill-fitting players.
