  1. * we defended Kalkbrenner well last year --- without a 7'2" center. * I am struggling understanding Meah's exact role. I don't blame him. It really looks like Fred is struggling fitting him in; both offensively and defensively. * tied to the above, I think Juwan is struggling a bit offensively due to Meah's presence on the floor. Meah really absorbs space where Juwan likes to roam. Plus the defender does not to defend Meah on the perimeter. Tie that to our failure to hit open 3's, creates a lane filled with bodies. * yesterday was a close competitive game. You can easily point to two things (simplified) that led to our loss. Our sluggish start and St. Mary's ability to knock down open three's and our failure to do so. Also another side note on the threes...it really looked like our team thought the three point line was the white (NBA) line while the true line was the black line...did anyone else notice that?
  2. Why was this pointed at my simple and generic response. I will repeat, there were reasons why individuals stop posting. I personally ignore most posts I do not like. I sometimes respond if I am in an uglier mood. To each, his own.
  3. Back home. We need to tinker with starting line up. Got to perform better the first ten minutes of the game. Second gotta shoot better on the perimeter.
  4. There are reasons why some posters have fallen silent.
  5. The refs are struggling today. We were not ready at the get go. Much better the last several minutes. I think we have to reconsider our starting five.
  6. Here at midcourt and ready to lose my voice.
  7. Wow, that was fun. Way to go ladies!
  8. I am going to assume that the issue is associated with the number of customers seeking to tap into the show...
  9. Netflix is now officially broken. Lol.
  10. Undercard fights just starting up.
  11. 1. Every time Juwan shoots a three, I say something like "crap, no!" I really love being wrong. 2. I am really liking Gavin. He is much more than just a shooter. His play should result in more minutes. 4. Okay, neither of our point guards are perimeter shooters. If they are okay with it, then I am good with us going with the best match up/hot hand.
  12. Remember, Morgan is a week back from post-concussion protocol. He is likely not close to 100% recovered. Give it some time fellas, he will be a big help to us.
  13. Man, I saw Brice and did a double or triple take. Wonder why the change???
  14. Much more good than bad in this game. It should remove most of the concern/panic that was present. First and foremost, we are playing pretty darn good defense. There were occasional breakdowns; but those breakdowns should be fixable. Rebounding looked good, we have players that are very aggressive looking for boards. I hope that continues. Free throw shooting looks good. Nice to see. We looked good in transition for the most part. Offensive flow was better; but still a bunch of errors to fix. I liked the assist to turnover rate, which was much better. One of Gavins turnovers occurred when his ankle rolled. I was much more concerned with the ankle rather than the turnover. Three point shooting We were much better around the basket; but there sure is a bunch more meat on that bone. Hey, that was a team we should beat by 20 to 30 points...and we did. Nice win! 3-0. See you in Sioux Falls for the St. Mary game.
  15. If anyone noticed, the rims are very rigid this year. Not sure why, but that certainly can create issues if your shot is not pure.
  16. He's not even out on the floor watching at this point.
  17. Fantastic news? Welcome N Quentin!
  18. Right now, good shots aren't falling. Right now, the offense being run, is pretty vanilla. Right now, we see potential; but continuity seems lacking. Right now defense is looking more advanced than the offense; with good communication and very few breakdowns. Right now free throw shooting is okay; but not great. Some struggle more than others. Bottom line, some people are panicking; but it is too early for that. Fred likes this team. A tweak here and there, shots starting to fall will fix many of the perceived issues.
  19. Hate seeing this friction. Love the Huskers. But I also appreciate and support the Saltdogs. They do a lot for the community, in particular the youth. There is no need for a new (or separate) complexes. We have one of the top venues in the country.
  20. Agree with the Griffiths take. I also would like to see a few more minutes for Connor. Will be interesting to see us move to an eight or nine man rotation. Who is out?
