  1. Pat Chambers at Penn State felt similar. Had a 44% win percentage through his first six seasons, and never finished better than 10th in the B1G. Then in his final three seasons he won 60% of his games and never finished worse than 10th. Had a couple top 6 finishes and an NIT title, too.
  2. FB post comments are always brutal regardless of the team. You'll have a hard time finding a team that doesn't want to fire its coach, if the litmus test is facebook.
  3. Much appreciated. If there is one lesson to be learned from HHC, it is the proper use of punctuation.
  4. This is a statement that ends in a question mark, not a question. Which is fairly ironic in light of your thread title. Also, I am trying to wrap my head around ending a sentence with an ellipsis, question mark, and second question mark. Might I recommend a semicolon next time?
  5. I'd donate a lot of blood to flip the locations of the Illinois and Purdue games. We'd have a shot against Illinois at home, but playing in Champaign when they're good is a tall task. Purdue is nearly untouchable regardless of where the game is played.
  6. Interesting that his dad used "#healthy" in that post. So from his perspective, Ramel was physically good to go as of the Stony Brook game.
  7. I'm glad the majority of the article is behind a paywall, because I really don't want to read the full article and learn about redeeming qualities in BS. By keeping it pay-to-read I can continue to view him as Saruman in my mind.
  8. Kinda crazy how bad the ACC has been the past few years. Haven't been a Top 3 league since 2019, and were 7th last season. Makes the B1G's woes not so bad by comparison.
  9. Disagree that "Seattle is nearby" Wazzu, since Pullman to Seattle is a full 4.5 hour trip. But otherwise a solid comp list
  10. There's a pretty vocal minority of Ute fans that have already determined Craig is not the man for the job in SLC. The administration (and their talking heads) seem more cautiously optimistic with him, but it doesn't help that Little Brother down in Provo is having an elite season. The local UofU vs BYU rivalry game is this weekend, the result of which will inordinately impact the support Craig has moving forward. If Smith pulls the upset against the Cougars and then makes a good showing in conference play, I don't think he is going anywhere. But if he flounders around .500 in league play again while losing a step to BYU, then I could see him wanting to stay a step ahead of the boosters and consider a move back to the midwest. Without tangible progress this season he for sure would be on the hot seat in 2024-25.
  11. Fair point. My gut (and the majority of the results to date) just tell me that we will know who wins this one with 3-4 minutes still to play. Maybe the loser claws their way back to a respectable scoring margin, but both teams are capable of blowout wins and blowout losses.
  12. Nebraska has yet to play in a game decided by single digits. Minnesota has only played in one. This feels like a game that is decided before the final TV timeout, regardless of which team ends up the victor.
  13. I'll take "quotes that didn't make sense prior to 2022" for $500, Alex.
  14. Final 10-15 minutes of the game I noticed Allick mimicking the things Creighton was doing. Running into defenders on offense, shoves in the back away from the ball on rebounds, that sort of thing. He didn't get called for that stuff either, so I guess that is just how the crew wanted to call the game. In a way I am glad that this was the game where officiating sucked the most, because it had zero impact on the outcome. Bad officiating swung the game by around 10 points, which is a drop in the bucket when you lose by 29.
