  1. Kamdy, maybe the reason you turned of the set was because you thought you were watching a rerun of the 2007 game (halftime score of 47-24), or 2005 (31-11). It felt a lot like those two games.
  2. By the way, have we had a game yet this year where the first shot out of our first possession isn't a three attempt by Walter?
  3. It really comes down to this. Creighton is a mature team, Nebraska isn't. Too many threes and not enough passes when our backs are against the wall. We saw this against UAB, didn't we? If nothing else, it was a relief that we came back to make it respectable the second half even though the game was clearly over. We have too many players trying to make plays by themselves as if any comeback rides entirely on their own back. Today I saw that from Shavon, Teran and Deverall, mostly in the first half. I wouldn't call this selfishness, just lack of maturity and mental toughness. Lots of young players on our team. We'll see more games like this, but I trust our coaching staff will get this turned around by next year.
  4. No smiley face was needed.
  5. That explains the first 10 seconds Gibbs was on top of Petteway Teran wasn't helping Gibbs out by having his arm wrapped around Grant's neck. Not easy getting up that way. But I will acknowledge I also saw what Swan saw, the smirk on his face when one of his teammates greeted him on the bench. Not sure who that player was but he obviously said something to Gibbs.
  6. Give me a break, people. Both players are competitors. Gibbs went after the ball and ended up on top of Petteway. Both players got tangled up and just let the intensity get the better of them. Seemed to me like a double foul would have been the more appropriate call, but at least the officials recognized that it wasn't a one-sided provocation by either player.
  7. Ahhh.... the Collier Syndrome. Must have been contagious.
  8. After the UAB game, there were a lot of people opining that Miles should have worked harder to keep Alihodzic. But - injuries and all - it still might have been a more fruitful effort if Miles could have convinced Jorge to return. All water under the bridge, now.
  9. At least Tai has a sense of humor. Was he really our best option out there the last 2 minutes at guard? Knowing we were going to shoot a lot of free throws, I would like to think we had better options on the bench - maybe not.
  10. Agree with you on Leslee Smith. I was hoping he could give us 8-10 minutes/game, and a few rebounds. He's brought that and a lot more. He has some solid moves inside and appears to be a leader. This team still hasn't learn to pass. We've seen that with a few of the newcomers, but was a little surprised and disappointed to see Shavon fall into that habit with a 5-1 break 2 minutes into the second half. He had a couple of options to dish it off for an easy lay-in but took it on in himself (I do think he got fouled at least).
  11. Well, 7th place is a little disappointing, but the best thing I can say is we just beat a fair SEC team and can still execute a lot better than what we did today.
  12. Find your man underneath, Leslee.
  13. Finally! Great drive by Shields.
  14. Charge? That's ridiculous. Call them consistent, please.
  15. Tai hitting his free throws is a good sign.
  16. Down 3. Need to be really patient here.
  17. Those easy drives to the basket that Shields had the first three games are gone, now that we are playing better competition. I don't know what needs to be adjusted for that shot to open up for him, but we need him driving to the basket like that.
  18. Petteway is going to be a heck of a player for us.... once he stops killing us with poorly timed 3 point attempts.
  19. I keep looking at the Georgia sidelines and wondering if Mark Fox is Doc's fraternal twin.
  20. Ron, you've been around here for a long time and I admire your passion and loyalty for the program. So I'll just assume the passion got the better of you when you made this statement. Personally, the adjectives "concise" and "objective" come to mind when I read one of Lee's articles. Not to say I haven't been angered after reading one of his articles. When that occurs, I usually find the reason I'm angry is because what he said happens to be true.
  21. So now we go from playing against an almost-Husker player to playing an almost-Husker coach. If Mark Fox' Georgia team wins out tomorrow, will he tweet something like this? "That win was for all the haters I have in Nebraska . Never going to regret for a second going to Georgia. I love this team and these players!" I should point out that in this case, Fox rejected Nebraska's offer to be the head coach in 2006 when he was at Nevada, not the other way around.
  22. This is just what you would call a bad P.R. game for Miles. Your team stunk up the court all the while one of your rejected (perceived as such anyway) recruits has a solid game against you. Long run, Fahro wasn't going to be a difference maker for this program. He might have made last year/this year marginally better.
