  1. Shay did a good job. Probably enough to keep the shutout. Banjoff probably should have caught the lead off double. Took a bad angle. Bryce had as semi tough play on the error to lead off this inning.
  2. Shay needs to get us through 7, maybe even 8. The bats are not existent.
  3. Made it 3 innings without striking out. Might be a season high.
  4. I say magic # to make a regional is 35 regular season wins. Which means 28 - 10 finish.
  5. San Diego State with a huge choke job.
  6. The other issue I have is what happened if we beat KU that year? Do we make the dance? Or, if we beat win at PSU and Illinois to go 15 - 3 in conference. Do we make the dance? I have big doubts in both instances considering our NIT seed.
  7. I would have liked it better if he would have been used in the 9th yesterday and had Bragg start today. Less pressure and needs some confidence.
  8. Our pitching staff is okay. We have 3 decent starters for the weekend. Frank, Perry, and Shay. McCarville for midweek. I'm thinking Bragg is in line for the 2nd midweek starter. Our bullpen is also decent when we use our normal guys. Olson, Martin, Hood are solid. Gomes had one bad outing. We need our starters to keep getting us to the 6th and 7th innings. Losing Bunz hurts.
  9. Our RPI was 51. At the moment, I was upset that we didn't make the big dance. Looking back, we were probably a bubble team. The thing that still upsets me is nearly missing the NIT. There is no reason that we were sent on the road for the 1st round. We should have been a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT at the very minimum.
  10. Wow. What an embarrassment that 9th inning turned out to be. A few pitchers are going to find it hard to get many innings. All in all a good game. Since the TCU series ended, our starting pitching has been lights out. We are 3 - 1 with a 1.36 ERA We've walked 14 and struck out 47. We are averaging 5 2/3 innings per outing. Up to the end of the TCU series, we were 0 - 5 with a 10.80 ERA. We walked 16 and struck out 25. We averaged 2 2/3 innings per outing.
  11. I spoke too soon on the good pitching. 7 walks in a 12 - 0 game? How is that possible?
  12. Much better effort tonight. New Mexico State is a very good hitting team according to the stats and they have 1 hit in 8 innings. The defense has 0 errors. New Mexico State made mistakes in the field and we took advantage.
  13. Is Dana Altman still at Oregon?
  14. Our only chance at a regional is the auto bid. This team doesn't have the leadership like last year.
  15. We do a pretty good job of booting the ball, also.
  16. See what happens when you put the ball in play? An error and a home run ties the game.
  17. This team is not playing very well.
  18. 30 year senior Bohanon is the hero after throwing the ball up, and it goes in. Man, I despise that guy.
  19. Not to sound morbid, but do people remember him if he was still here, and not passed away in a plane crash? I was super young when he played. The only thing I know about him is he was a great free throw shooter.
  20. I was worried about this, but just like basketball I started drinking the kool-aid. Pitching seems to be coming around. Now, time for the line-up to get going. Anderson, Matthews, and Chick are going to be the key cogs for this team to get rolling.
  21. I agree, but it's always fun to speculate. 100 % gone Verge Kobe Lakes 99 % gone Bryce Trey 75 % gone Lat Andre Walker Keon Good chance of coming back Wilcher Wilhelm McPherson Cronin (walk-on) Hoiberg (walk-on) McGraw (walk-on) Piatkowski (walk-on) Dawson Kesei Wilhelm Oleg Recruits Lloyd Blaise Lawrence
  22. I think I know why I was confused. The AP must not have a FOTY award.
  23. I was talking about Bryce over Malkai.
  24. How does that work? Aren't both freshmen?
