    Bragg with a hard luck 10th. Gets squeezed to the 1st batter on what should have been strike 3, and he bloops a single. Then the slowest roller ever to left.

    How do you give a batter time, when the pitcher has already started his windup? Then, they overturn a call without indisputable evidence.

    The non existent offense is back. 7 of 9 outs via strikeouts. We have 2 hits 3 walks and 2 HBP in the first 3 innings and only 2 runs.

    Here's the difference between last year and this year. Led the Big 10 in fielding % last year. This year, tied for 9th. Led the league in runs scored last year. This year, 10th 2nd in runs allowed last year. This year, 6th Led the league in batting average last year. This year, last.

    Can we complete the trifecta? We finished tied for last in the West in football. We finished tied for last in basketball. Now, it's baseball's turn.

    Indiana has a 7.11 ERA. We haven't come close to scoring a run.

    This team is flat out bad right now. Matthews cannot be in the line-up right now. He can't field. He strikes out about 1/2 the time.

    They are good. Still, no excuse to be swept by them at home. Omaha even won 2 of 3 against them in Omaha.

    This brings me back to the end of Mike Anderson era. Those teams were really bad. However, they would probably sweep this team.

    What I wouldn't give to have a defense like Rutgers. They actually make plays.

    Our defense is dreadful right now. Everywhere. Every outfielder has misplayed a ball this inning that has resulted in runs.

    Rutgers is taking advantage of their break in their weak schedule.

    That was about the most hard luck inning for a pitcher. A little 50 hopper couldn't be gloved by Efry. A pop-up to right misplayed by the right fielder. A pop-up down the line couldn't be caught by the left fielder, and finally a pop-up to center field misplayed by Chick for a double.

    We need to score in the next 2 innings. We do not have the pitching depth to stay in this game if we keep going.

    The Rutgers coach stayed longer than I probably would have.

    Wow. What a break. Maybe that saves the day.

    It seems like the opposing pitchers must feel like they pitch in a pitcher friendly park all the time. Ohio State's pitching staff has to be one of the worst in the country.

    11 k's including 2 with the bases loaded in the 9th. We have to be one of the worst teams in putting the ball in play. Omaha gives you 3 errors, and you can't take advantage again.

    The Big 10 is not very good. However, it is tough to compare our team last year to our team this year. Nebraska had a ton of production, and if we had those players (Hallmark, Acker, Mojo, Roskam, Spencer, Povich, Hroch, Wynne), this team would probably have a much better record this year.
