Welcome back J Law! His best game on quite some time. Northwestern is going to make a run. Need to keep up the intensity.

They are running us off the 3 point line, and we are attacking the rim. The downfall to that, was throwing the ball away. Need to make better decisions.

Not much of a make up call. On the other end, we don't even touch the player. On Brice's, they sandwich him.

Need the refs to get in the locker room and regroup.

That was not even close to a travel.

No one yells at the refs more than me. I think they lost control of the game. They let Rutgers get away with beating up on us. I think part of the reason fans (myself included) get upset is the vantage point for the fans. When we are in the stands or watching on TV, we see Keisei getting held nearly every time he comes off a screen. Something that might not be detected on the floor by the refs. I think they try to be great at their job (can't believe I just said that), but are human and can only see what they see.

Brice was called for a foul when he crowded the Rutgers player on a trap. I believe the Rutgers player crowded Keisei and should have been called for a foul.

Last year, we were not a great road (2-9 prior to our last 2 games) team, but won our last 2. The year before that, we were 0 - 8, and won our last 3. 2 against ranked teams. We protect home court and get hot on the road, we can still make something of this season. We have 2 absolute must wins, and then it's time to start playing better on the road. It starts with defense, and not having scoring droughts.

Last time this sequence happened. (We get blown out, and then wilt in the 2nd half). We beat MSU and KSU.

The same thing we did against Minnesota, we did against Rutgers. We let both teams pressure us and wilted. Part of it is having a combo guard try to learn point. Part of it is getting pushed around for rebound after rebound. Losing Gary when we did was a huge blow. Overall, defense was decent until we had to rebound. Just needed 1 or 2 rebounds. One beef with the refs. They rightfully called 3 seconds on Mast. In the 2nd half, 11 for Rutgers was in the lane for 12 seconds. He went in the lane with 16:10, never leaves the lane, catches the ball with 16:01, dribbles 2 times, and finally shoots the ball with 15:58. There was a make-up call by not calling a foul on Gary in that same sequence.

That is what I am hoping, but not what it looked like to me.

We aren't going to be 4 - 26 from 3 again. Just like we aren't going to be 14 - 23 again. Just splitting the difference makes it a much closer game.

The difference, they hit their open 3's and we missed ours. Brice, Keisei, CJ, and Rice were a combined 3 - 17. Their 3 point shooter was 5 - 12 by himself.

If our shots aren't falling, we're in trouble.

I didn't realize Keisei had that kind of strength. I feel sorry for #2.

Iowa looks like we did against Purdue.

Mast, Allick, and Rice about the only ones to come to play. A very gettable game, we are going to blow. Our shots are not falling, and they don't appear to have a chance.

Might be time to bring in Rice, and see if he can provide another spark.

Need to keep attacking the rim. (The refs have to start calling fouls on Iowa). Also, need to get some stops.
