  1. HOw is that not a technical for shooting the ball after the whistle if we go by the letter of the law?
  2. I think we have whoever brings the ball up chuck a shot up within 5 seconds of the shot clock. The law of averages say the ball has to go in the basket once in a while.
  3. Tai isn't going to be much better. Smith will be the starter when Benny starts coming off the bench.
  4. Get the Huskers to drive the ball as well Agreed.
  5. Thank god our defense is good. Otherwise, we'd be in big trouble. Our offense is horrendous.
  6. We have a 4 on 2 fast break, and we can't score.
  7. Bad news: we have 5 turnovers in 9 minutes of action. Good news: we have 5 assists on 6 baskets.
  8. If Tai can keep playing like this, it will help the team big time.
  9. The one call I have trouble with from last night was Walt posting up a small Wisconsin player. The Wisconsin player fronted him, and we feed him over the top. The refs called a push. It was NOT even a push, just a small player who couldn't reach the ball.
  10. The problem with that is that you have no scorers off the bench. I think Benny needs to get his minutes reduced. I just don't think he can continue to play at his highest level, getting 32 minutes per game. Need to lower by 10. Increase Smith's minutes, and give Fuller or Webster a chance to come off the bench.
  11. I do think they played hard, Wisconsin is a real good offensive team. We are still a good defensive team, but if the other team is hitting their outside shots like Wisconsin did, we aren't going to win. We needed to hold most teams under 60. I think if we play a crappy defensive team, like Indiana, we might score 65 - 70. Other than playing a team like that, we won't score much over 60, especially on the road. Here is my counter-argument...and I should apologize for not taken a cooling off period. But how many 50/50 balls did we get to? How many times did we have the basket surrounded, yet did not get the rebound? How many times did the offense break down and simply hope that TP would make it happen? Hey games like this occur. But I was not at all happy with tonights effort. The early fouls took Shavon out of his game. Walt did okay, but nothing really special. TP was a stud. Benny and David left their games back in Lincoln. TSmith was great the last two minutes, but otherwise, nada. Leslee and Moses were okay but nothing special. Yes, Wisconsin is good, if not great. But their students were not back, their PG was out, Frank was coming back from a concussion. We had early opportunities, but struggled defending and (but for) TP was offensively challenged. I am blathering, but I am disappointed with the collective effort tonight. I see your point there.
  12. Benny doesn't seem to be the same player as last year. Could it be the minutes increase? He only averaged 15 minutes in conference play last year. This year he has averaged 32.4 minutes this year. Maybe, start Smith, and increase his minutes a little bit. Wisconsin is a really good offensive team. I have no idea how they loss to Rutgers. Rutgers is even worse than us on offense. If they shoot over 50 %, we are going to lose 9.99999999 out of 10 times. In fact, if any team shoots over 50 %, we aren't going to win many games. Much like against Illinois, if we force the other team to shoot 27%, we will win nearly every time. Depending on match-ups in the tourney, Wisconsin could go pretty far again. Shields started out hot. We were hurt big time when he picked up his 2nd foul. Terran was huge for us tonight. Without him, it is even uglier.

  14. The last bucket by Smith gave TP 27, the rest of the team 28.
  15. Nice to see Tai with a great bounce pass to Smith, and a nice take. I know it's against scrubs, but he needs to get something going. If you look at Kaminsky's career path, he avg. 1.4, 4.7, 16, and now whatever this year. Not saying that will be Tai, but it takes some players longer to start showing their talent.
  16. Our star player gets called for a crappy so called push off.
  17. Frank traveled and pushed off again!!!!! Nothing!!
  18. I'm trying to figure out how this Wisconsin team could lose to Rutgers. Even, without Frank and Jackson (for the 2nd half). This Wisconsin team should not lose to Rutgers.
  19. Now, the refs decide they need to make the fouls look a little respectable.
  20. We have loss this game on defense. It has been the same way for the entire season. We can only win when we stop the other team. We cannot win when the other team shoots over 50%.
  21. Especially if you are wearing the white jerseys tonight.
  22. I don't know how you can possibly miss Hayes just flat out throwing Rivers away. You have 3 refs, and none of them could see that? It was obvious.
