Rebounding has been good. Defense needs to improve somewhat. It seems like they haven't played good defense, but Ill is 2-6 from the floor

Shields has a very pretty mid range jumper. Needs to use it more.

You call Pitch for a tech (deserved), but Jordan can rip you to the point you have to yell at him, and nothing? Have to keep up the defensive intensity, and REBOUND!!! We turned things around when we started defending. They went 6:18 towards the end of the 1st half with no points. According to live stats, we are only getting outrebounded 15-13? That can't be right.

Seriously, it just doesn't make sense. I refuse to believe it's a talent thing. I've seen him play well against better competition than he'll see here. It has to be mental right now (as if that isn't obvious). I'm not much of a shot expert, but his form looks good. His shots just aren't falling for whatever reason. To top it off, he doesn't shoot it when he gets an open shot. He seems scared. He also needs to take his time and understand where to go with the ball when he drives and gets stopped. He has a nice move to the basket. Is big enough and athletic enough to get by people to get to the rim. IMO, he needs to stop worrying about missing shots, making mistakes, and just go out to play basketball like he is capable of playing.

I'm having a hard time getting my hopes up. We weren't exactly dominating teams when Moses was playing. And if Leslee does come back, i have to think he will be on a minutes restriction and who knows how effective he will be after his 3rd serious knee injury. Obviously these guys would help, but I'm not sure if they can turn our season around. We need someone to get Pitchford and Rivers some rest. Even if those guys can give us 20 minutes with 7 points and 10 boards that would be huge. Pitchford played 32 minutes again. He has avg. about 35 minutes over the last 6 games. Rivers is avg. about 30 minutes per game.

This team is mentally and physically fatigued right now. The other team seems to have more energy down the stretch right now.

Somebody needs to plant Woodbury outside the gym. Need Leslie and Moses to do that.

What a difference this game has been when Iowa isn't going to the line every other possession.

Huge minutes from Fuller. Of course, Iowa is a good team for him to get some minutes.

This team needs big men in the worst way. We are getting abused by a weak 7 footer and an athletic 6'10" player right now. We get a foul called every time they get the ball down low whether we touch them or not. We need Hammond in the weight room 24/7. He needs to get bigger. If he adds a lot of muscle, he will be a very good player for us. Right now, he is getting pushed around underneath. Very much the reason he gets basically no minutes right now.

Here's an idea for the 2nd half. Just let each Iowa player go to the line to shoot free throws. And, on the Nebraska end, let's play call your own foul. It'd be no different than the first half.

Happy New Year, everyone!! Need to play better defense if we want to go anywhere. This team does not have a shooter to help for such poor defense in the 1st half. I think getting Moses and Leslee back would go along ways in helping with that. This team is the same team as last year, the only difference is last year's team hit the big shots in key moments, grabbed the rebound in the key moments, and got stops when they needed. This year's team can't hit the big shot, lose the rebound out of bounds, throw the ball away, and let the other team hit shots. Crean is a big dick. I wish Miles would have got at him. The only problem is Indiana started playing much better after the little dust-up. We seemed to lose our momentum after that. Needed to attack the rim more. They struggled when we did that. Also, need to hit lay-ups when we get to the rim. Petteway struggles shooting free throws this year. Benny needs to have confidence in his shot. He's been hitting big ones this year. Need to make teams pay for not guarding you.

I almost had to turn the game off when indiana stopped guarding him completely, and parker had no clue what to do. that's the kind of stuff that happens in middle school games. "Don't guard the short guy that can't score"!!! The bad part of that is that was Benny was 8 for 17 from 3. He should have confidence.
