  1. Allstate Conference, formerly known as the Pac-12 Conference.
  2. Here's my unsolicited take on the next moves that the Pac-12 can make for expansion: Current Pac-12 Membership: Boise State Colorado State Fresno State Oregon State San Diego State Washington State Not Worthy (Doesn't Embrace the 'State' Name): Bakersfield (California State University, Bakersfield) Binghamton (State University of New York at Binghamton) Bowling Green (Bowling Green State) Buffalo (State University of New York at Buffalo) Central Connecticut (Central Connecticut State) Iowa (State University of Iowa) LSU (Louisiana State) McNeese (McNeese State) Nicholls (Nicholls State) North Carolina A&T (North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State) Sam Houston (Sam Houston State) Stephen F. Austin (Stephen F. Austin State) Stony Brook (State University of New York at Stony Brook) Tarleton (Tarleton State) Vermont (The University of Vermont and State Agricultural College) Virginia Tech (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University) Overqualified (More That One 'State'): Air Force (United States Air Force Academy) Army (United States Military Academy) Navy (United States Naval Academy) Downgrade for Power 4 School: Arizona State Florida State Iowa State Kansas State Michigan State NC State Ohio State Oklahoma State Penn State Close Proximity for Regional Expansion: Cal State Fullerton Cal State Northridge/CSUN California Polytechnic State Idaho State Long Beach State Montana State New Mexico State Portland State Sacramento State San Jose State Utah State Weber State Outside of the Region: Alabama State Alcorn State Appalachian State Arkansas State Austin Peay State Ball State Chicago State Cleveland State Coppin State Delaware State East Tennessee State Georgia State Grambling State Illinois State Indiana State Jacksonville State Kennesaw State Kent State Mississippi Valley State Missouri State Morehead State Morgan State Murray State Norfolk State North Dakota State Northwestern State South Carolina State South Dakota State Southeast Missouri State Tennessee State Texas State USC Upstate Wichita State Wright State Youngstown State A Way to Get Deion Sanders Back into the Pac-12: Jackson State
  3. It seems they would have been invited if their school name was "Wyoming State."
  4. Turns out Nebraska isn't "anyone"...
  5. I mean...
  6. They've got plenty of that they refuse to do anything with.
  7. It's one thing to see your team lose two favored games in a row. It's another thing to go viral on social media and end up deleting your account tonight to avoid the wave of messages as you're watching your team lose to Boston College.
  8. No mention of Matt Abdelmassih?
  9. I'm sure people in China are also arguing that cycling, skateboarding, wrestling, etc. aren't sports either. And I'm sure the same can be said about future sports in flag football, etc. If it's offered, a country has a minimum of 4 years to prepare their team to qualify in that sport's federation to compete. And some of these sports have been around for a very long time. So the USA can decide to fund programs to encourage competitiveness in those sports we're not as good at. Everybody and their dog owned a table tennis set. Nothing was stopping us from taking it seriously and competing. And China's attention to detail and consistency is incredible in diving. USA is losing its dominance in swimming to countries like Australia. We just choose to invest where we think we can win, just as much as China does for their sports (but I think the only difference is that China goes for "gold or nothing" more than we do). Nevertheless, I'm excited that cricket is being added to LA28. We're about to see some powerful teams come through and if you haven't been following, USA beat a #1/#2 powerhouse team this year in the T20 world tournament. USA also has Major League Cricket which started a couple years ago. This is a prime example of some founders investing in the sport in their country in the hopes of competing on the national stage.
  10. So is this a public secret scrimmage? Or a secret public scrimmage? Or maybe just a scrimmage secret that's public?
  11. If there's one thing I've learned, you don't play against the team that the title of the movie is named after.
  12. Always nice watching volleyball in the Olympics: "Jordan Larson's not only one of the best for the United States, all time. She's one of the best in the game, all time."
  13. News to me, but I've heard from some Dish subscribers that BTN+ is included in their services. Not sure what other providers offer these types of things to their customers.
  14. Just get ready for the classic bait and switch once they get a subscriber base large enough to increase prices. But for the first 1-2 years, enjoy what they're trying to entice.
  15. The ACC is really milking this July 1st technicality for "their" Olympic achievements:
  16. Not sure where to put this, so I'll just drop it in here:
  17. Not that you have influence over any of this, but the basketball merchandise the university offers is sparse and just bad. It's really sad considering our ticket sales are in the Top 25 basically every year since the PBA opened up. If we take our coaches seriously, the coverage of the sport seriously, then why do they act like we're a Division 2 basketball school when it comes to merchandise?
  18. Impressive that they've held on, for sure. They've adapted when the Pac-12 didn't. However, you could argue that the Big 12 hasn't upgraded the talent that it has lost. That's why they have to play the quantity game and also get creative with changing the conference sponsorship name. That said, I do enjoy seeing teams like Houston, et. al. in a power conference setting.
  19. Bonus Miami-related clip:
