What's on Second - 72 Hoosier on First - 80

Just a warning... it's a bit cringe worthy.

I'd rather not. If it was between cutting the season in half, or playing a full season but losing the rest of our games, I'd take the latter. Sure, this season is shot (yet, based on where my expectations were at the start of this season, it was anyway), but we need the experience. Hopefully that helps translate some progress into next season.

It still has to be in there as there are plenty of arenas with no crowd pre-covid and things like staying in a hotel and travelling and using a different type ball matter. The question is to whether or not he is over-factoring it. Plus, Penn State's home court advantage, pre-and-post COVID is exactly the same.

The point was that we're one of the few handful of schools out there that have cash positive programs, we have the fan support, profits to support the program. Yet there are so many other programs out there who can (and have) done more with less. Clearly we've mis-evaluated talent on this roster, who knows what else is going on; lack of confidence, poor chemistry, etc. But the program is making a whole lot of money for poor results. Then they hide behind a coaching change, rinse and repeat.

Either way, tickets sold = revenue for a losing program.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but this is more in response to the podcast boys at @The_nebrasketball_podcast. It's also an interesting discussion point, so I figured I'd post it here. This is just for the 2019-2020 season, but I imagine the top average attendance schools are fairly consistent year-over-year. This isn't anything revolutionary, but Nebraska fan support continues to land within the top 15 in the country since 2014, yet our on-court results are drastically lacking other schools with similar fan support. The classic "one of these things is not like the other". Unfortunately, I think we've answered the chicken-and-the-egg question. "If you support it, they will come" doesn't quite work for us. At some point, the administration needs to dissect the problems within the program and put the blame solely on themselves. We're doing our part, it's time for them to do theirs.

Here's a few key points to look at over the seasons: We're experiencing the worst FT% performance in the last 20 years (#1 and #3 worst) Nearly the worst FG% shooting in the last 20 years (#2 and #4 worst) Horrid 3P% shooting in the last 20 years (#3 and #6 worst) EDIT: One more thing to add that I found interesting. Miles' final years at Nebraska are somewhat aligned with the PTS/MIN that Hoiberg is outputting right now. Not alluding to any coaching opinions; my hypothesis just would have been that Hoiberg was substantially pushing his teams to score faster than the coaches we've seen before. I suppose this might be more prevalent if we saw better shooting percentages out of this team.
