  1. Why's that? Buildings not tall enough?
  2. If you're someone who thinks these sorts of things are significant, his most recent follows are Jimmy Drew, HC at UCF and Justin Pecka, Assoc. HC at U of Tampa. Take those with as much seasoning as you see fit.
  3. I grew up in Omaha, live in Lincoln and am pretty content with what Lincoln is right now.
  4. Am I supposed to be broken up that Lincoln doesn't get these events?
  5. I'm willing to let bygones be bygones. He could help here.
  6. I mean, if he wants to come home, I'm cool with it. He could help NU.
  7. That seems like a poor life choice.
  8. So does Nebraska.
  9. Wait...I thought no one ever transferred from that one school? https://t.co/Ws5aIhBPRM
  10. Dirk's not "anti-Huskers".
  11. Depends on how close to pre-injury status he can get, and I'm talking pre-last-summers injury. That player could certainly help us and, yes, would take Taylor's minutes, I think. If he can't, then he might struggle to see the floor. But if he gets back to being able to hit from three, he's going to do a lot more than pull minutes from Palmer and Taylor. Taylor will still have a role, but there are a lot of factors that will weight into exactly how much.
  12. He could be our Nickleberry!
  13. I doubt we'll see them fill the role directly. Perhaps with a GA, but probably not in that capacity. I think they'll do like they did with Owens and spread those duties around and perhaps bump the salaries of guys like Eaton and Sapp. All this is assuming that Ali does get that job. I think they've got a bigger staff than most programs, so they should be able to absorb those responsibilities.
  14. Looks like they did a better job of matching comparable teams last year. That first year it was all over the place. NU shouldn't have really ended up playing Nova. Georgetown would be cool.
  15. Beware Memorial Day weekend, though.
  16. He gave something of a tacit one after the first of the year, I think. Then, as things started to go south, rumors swirled and play fell of precipitously and he could have quelled all the speculation and didn't. Allowed a whole lot of drama carry on longer than it needed to.
  17. Then why did let him blow around in the wind while the season went into the tank?
  18. We're not buddies, but I've been around the team enough to see the potential there. Not sure if he'll get there this year or not or ever.
  19. Then why can't a sophomore?
  20. Jordy's more than that. He's got a magnetic personality to him. And he has a strong desire to get better. People will follow that. Everything I've seen and heard about the kid screams leader to me. Evan was one of the more vocal guys on the floor last year, initiating huddles and such after fouls, that type of thing. I don't know what he's like off the floor. He's going to be a role player, though, even if he starts, that's what he'll be. How often does your leadership come from that kind of player?
  21. Charles Barkley? The guy who puts his TV on a clapper?
  22. Personally, I think the most natural born leader on the team is Jordy, at least from the guys that played last year. Taylor has some of that in him, too. And perhaps, Gill. But none of them will be the focal point of anything we do. Can your "alpha dog" be a guy that isn't an upperclassman, your star or even a main contributor? If Glynn can find that, he'll take his game to the next level.
  23. Basketball beat writer for Hail Varsity.
  24. Team Red has a bench. They have the edge.
  25. That's probably true. Looking back through the numbers, other than Creighton, whenever we played a high major school in the non-con, they shot 39% or better. We were just bad at 3-point defense. Maybe they should extend that pack line a bit instead of contracting it again.
