  1. Now, you know, the 1995-96 Nebrasketball team lost 9 straight games in conference toward the end of the season & then went out & played on the road for most of the N.I.T. & won the whole enchilada!? You never know... The 95-96 team had the second best roster with respect to talent at each position that Nebraska has had in the last 40 years and should have been a sweet 16 team at the least.
  2. Does anybody remember Ricky Blanton in 1986? He was a 6'6" to 6'7" kid, great shooter, who switched from SG to C after some injuries and helped take LSU to the final four (he did put on a quick 25 lbs when he switched positions). Anyway, I'm not saying this would work, but....Nick Fuller to play some 4 and 5 next year?
  3. I still remember Billy Cunningham saying during the Nebraska vs. Xavier game that Danny Nee told him "Beau Reid will not let us lose this game." My friends and I instantly knew we were screwed.
  4. I think 15,029 people in the arena thought it wasn't a legit call. Only 1 person in the building thought it was a charge. If he hadn't called a charge on that, absolutely no one would have even thought it should or could have been called that way. So - terrible call.
  5. Here's his stats, in a per game average, first for Nebraska's 12 game stretch run when Nebraska went 10-2, and then for the other 43 games of his career when Nebraska is 22-21. 6. You are all being much too kind by saying he should never officiate a tournament game again. Actually, he should be in prison for his calls at the end of the Wichita State vs. Louisville game last year, because that sure looked criminal.
  7. I'm pretty sure that Tony Wilbrand and Bronsen Schliep both kept Regents scholarships the whole time they were in school. From Schliep's bio at Huskers.com: Personal The son of Marvin and Raelene Schliep, Bronsen was born Dec. 13, 1982, and has one sister, Brandy. Bronsen is majoring in business administration/pre-dentistry at Nebraska and is on track to graduate in May 2006. His father, Marvin, attended Nebraska and was a member of the yell squad and club rowing team. Bronsen is a Regents and Peter Kiewit Scholar at Nebraska. He chose to join the Huskers as a walk-on after being recruited by Air Force, Dartmouth and Northwest Missouri State. In football, in the late 90's Jeff Hemje was also able to keep an academic scholarship, but could do so only because he wasn't recruited in any way by Nebraska, he just showed up at the stadium office over the summer and inquired about walking on. Others in the past have had to relinquish the academic scholarship or when it came to seeing playing time, or they had to be counted against the scholarship limit.
  8. They're having a tougher go of it against the officiating. Slick Pitino's team is getting away with murder on defense, this game is not on the up and up.
