  1. By definition, isn't every kid that attends Prep recruited? How is that illegal? I sure wasn't... Of course, I was a guy on the bleachers cheering when it came to hoops...and later the Huskers.
  2. As long as it is not another 200 posts on Akoy Agau...I'm IN
  3. There are no make-up calls! Only shitty refs who consistently miss proper calls, who are partnered with their cohorts that try to make up for many of their errors!
  4. Since I live in Omaha, the finances of Lincoln's district have not been studied by me. Yet, the whole project is amazing and a long term benefit to Lincoln in my detached view. I would love to hear everybody with knowledge state why the project was a gift to the city/university/whoever (depending on your point of view). I think Lincoln, in any event transformed itself into a much more dynamic town. When Omaha had that same opportunity, they gave the riverfront to ConAgra, Rick's Boatyard Cafe (Hal Daub, part owner, "reportedly" without investing) and the US Department of Parks! Real riverfront magnets and people attracters...all of them! OMAHA, was suggested then to be the city of bribery! (some say...but, of course, not me.) But I speak the truth when I tell you some people thought it was true! Don't ever ask me about when the cable companies came to town.
  5. Yeah, I understand as I think that happened to me back in the 60's!
  6. That OB call was a criminal act! Potential 5 point swing.
  7. You sure the Tubby family ain't just a big traveling Bball fan family?
  8. I read this to mean Terran's mom got some very bad news and he needed to make the round trip to go back home shortly after he left to be with her. If it is (or could be) indeed end stage cancer, it is a very difficult time to go through. All my thoughts, prayers and best wishes go out to the Petteway family. We should only hope it is something as simple as wanting life advise.
  9. Any idea how long he is staying? The spring game is a very good selling point even for basketball prospects. I just heard Robin W on the radio state he is in Thursday and out Friday...so no game experience.
  10. While she was certainly around... My monkey was nowhere to be found. Hiding from sight was such a delight!
  11. I'll take losing locker rooms over being taken behind the woodshed any day. I don't know about that...I remember a young lady that took me behind the woodshed and showed me a plenty good time!
  12. Even the '27 Yankees lost 44 games...that is baseball...some days are not your's! They need to erase today from their minds and come out tomorrow like it is last Sunday. Get a win and leave town tied with MU in the loss column.
  13. The first half certainly lived up to the billing!
  14. Wis. lucky on that as he was out of bounds without reestablishing himself before he caught the ball! Go B1G!
  15. And the beauty of this mid-week was that the pitching staff was well protected and should be good to go...except Meyers will have to wait until later in the series. You are absolutely correct, this was a trap that sprung yet failed to catch the target. This was a mature response by a team that is jelling quite nicely. If pitching and defense is all you need, we are a shoo-in.
  16. I guess part of having an abundance of posts as opposed to consolidating them all is that posts sink to the bottom a lot faster. We'll give it a few days and see how things go. It's been a tough season and people are blowing off smoke. I'm being not paid to keep a level head about things and trying to do so Wow...how much are you not being paid?
  17. WOW! If you want to see a team that has blown up go to swoof's referred link to see 6 guys listed today as announcing they are transferring from Bradley http://verbalcommits.com/schools/bradley Should make us feel good.
  18. Tough win tonight! The beard comes in for the 10th inning and strikes out the side...all 3 swinging! This was after Scheiber's homer in the top of the 10th with 2 out! Now get out to Maryland and take the series. GBR
  19. Here is today's effort by the rag for this genre. http://www.dailynebraskan.com/sports/tim-miles-locks-players-out-of-locker-room-moves-in/article_188c7be0-d822-11e4-8e86-e39ae87c1392.html
  20. Harvey was one of my law professors back in 1973...and I am semi-retiring later this year. He has got to be about 70 years old...so why not? I would say this is certainly true.
  21. The good news keeps rolling...besides making the top 20 this week... Pitchers Kyle Kubat, Jake Hohensee, Colton Howell and Jeff Chesnutt were named Louisville Slugger's national players of the week for their combined 15-inning shutout of the horns on Saturday. It's the first time in the history of that award that four pitchers from one school received the honor. Congratulations to them and the whole team on a great week of baseball!
  22. You are right. That was a classic win. Unfortunately, we lost the next two in '05...this time we get the sweep! We evened our overall record with them at 31-31. I went to the Texas record book to see if I could find a "most consecutive scoreless innings streak" (since we put together 24 innings). Not very surprising...but I could not find that. I did note that no team that has played the horns 20 times or more has a winning record against them. Only Cal St Fullerton and the Huskers have 50/50 records! It sure is nice to think we're getting back to where we once belonged! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB_99TDwCVk
  23. All of this is true. Ted Silva has done a great job putting this together. This is the best staff performance in quite a while. The missing ingredients for a long post season run (see early 00's) are power, great hitting across the lineup and a lot of base path speed. I am thrilled to see this type of gem at the Hawk...it has been a while. I have not done any research or reviewing...but I was wondering, has there been a better pitching match and/or game at the Hawk? If so, what were they? We got the 3 wins I wanted at the beginning of this week....now, go get the sweep that would be awesome! I can't wait to get to the Hawk tomorrow. The energy today was awesome! Tomorrow, may it rock!
  24. I do not recall the exact requirements, but at the chosen sites, each team has to have a different hotel that has a minimum # of rooms and has a full service restaurant that is open a certain # of hours, etc. With the first sites having 8 teams that means they demand 8 of these hotels that are convenient to the venue. I think this hotel requirement is what holds Lincoln back.
