  1. I'll say this for the crowd: It was juiced up tonight to the point that when I went to try and hit the bathroom with 3 minutes to go in the half to beat the crowd that there was a line out the door!
  2. Looking at the 7 minute stretch where we passed the ball to Chucky twice and had 6 straight empty possessions
  3. Here is the clip with Strick demonstrating Keisei pulling the string vs following through. https://www.youtube.com/clip/UgkxyJcHn_QLZXUa99hfVrm4NJDIRZMTTGMP Here is the continuation where Strick talks about Keisei floating on his shot and introduces the concept of 'butt-naked' shot making https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxjNTHYafN8sBMg-sXVamkHKqmw4U4rYqH?si=eGlOBWk2JGPfHz7o

  5. Tonight’s 80-72 overtime win over Wisconsin marks the first time that Nebraska has knocked off two top-10 teams since the 2013-14 season. It is the sixth time in program history that NU posted two top-10 wins in the same season (2023-24, 2013-14, 1993-94, 1991-92, 1990-91 and 1957-58. Nebraska has defeated a pair of opponents ranked in the top six for the first time since 1957-58, when Fred Hoiberg’s grandfather, Jerry Bush, was the Husker head coach. Nebraska erased a 19-point deficit in the game to tie for its largest comeback of the Big Ten era. The Huskers also won after by trailing by 19 against Iowa on Feb. 23, 2013. Before tonight, the largest deficit NU overcame this season was 14 against North Dakota on Dec. 20. Nebraska’s last three wins over Wisconsin all featured double-digit comebacks (10, 2021-22; 17, 2022-23; 19, 2023-24). The win was Nebraska’s first overtime victory since a 70-66 home win against Maryland on Feb. 19, 2023. The last two Wisconsin-Nebraska games in Lincoln have gone to overtime. According to CBB Sports Reference, Wisconsin had been 120-0 since 2000 when leading by 15 or more points at halftime. The Badgers led the Huskers by 16 at the half tonight (43-27). C.J. Wilcher fueled the bench effort by tying his career high with 22 points off the bench, the third 20-point game of his career. Wilcher scored 16 points in the second half on 5-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-5 from the 3-point line. It was his third career 20-point game and first since his 22-point effort at Indiana on Dec. 4, 2022. Wilcher’s 22-point night was the most by a Husker bench player this season and marked the fifth time he has led NU in scoring this season. Wilcher now leads the Big Ten as the player with the most double-figure games off the bench, with 11. Nebraska’s defense forced Wisconsin into committing a season-high 16 turnovers. The Huskers scored 18 points off those turnovers. Nebraska posted a 34-10 advantage in bench points. The 34 bench points tied for Nebraska’s most in a Big Ten game this season (also at Iowa). The Huskers’ three bench players (C.J. Wilcher, Sam Hoiberg and Juwan Gary) combined to post a plus-minus of +51. Rienk Mast joined Wilcher with a 20-point game, as Mast had 20 points for the third time this season and for the 11th time in his career. Nebraska had two players score at least 20 points for the first time since earlier this season against Duquesne (Nov. 22, 2023). Nebraska improved to 1-1 in overtime games this season. Brice Williams added 17 points and nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds. Williams was 7-of-8 from the free throw line, including 6-of-6 over the final 30 seconds of regulation and the five-minute overtime period. Nebraska is now 12-1 when scoring 80 or more points this season and 20-2 over the past two years. Juwan Gary made his return to the court for the first time since Jan. 17 against Rutgers. In his return, Gary had nine points and six rebounds. Nebraska’s 12-0 was the Huskers’ 16th double-figure run this season.

  10. Nebraska Cornhuskers (15-6) vs #6 Wisconsin Badgers (16-4) Date: Thursday Feb 1st, 2024 Time: 7:30 pm Arena: PBA Broadcast: BTN Wisconsin Info Head Coach: Greg Gard Location: Madison, WI Conference: B1G Nickname: Badgers Mascot: Bucky Badger Line: Wisconsin by 1.5 Typical Rotation Depth: 9+ KenPom rank: 11 Nota bene: Wisconsin has returned most of its roster from last season, ranking 9th in KenPom's minute continuity stat Wisconsin beat Nebraska 88-72 at the Kohl Center despite one of their best shooting performances of the season as they couldn't stop the Badgers all day. 5 Badgers scored in double digits with Tyler Wahl leading the way with 17 points. Keisei Tominaga also scored 17 in the loss. KenPom most used lineups PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 23 Chucky Hepburn 6-2 195 Jr 11 Max Klesmit 6-4 200 Jr 2 AJ Storr 6-7 205 So 5 Tyler Wahl 6-9 225 Sr 22 Steven Crowl 7-0 247 Jr 35.0 Player to watch: AJ Storr Wisconsin brought back 9 of their top 10 scorers from last year. AJ Storr is the one transfer they've added and he's turned out to be the leading scorer, especially with his 3pt shot falling during conference play. Player to watch: Steven Crowl Crowl is a problem as he's not only highly accurate inside but is also able to find teammates when double teams occur. In addition to being a great rebounder on both ends, he's hit a ridiculous 11 of his 16 3s this season. About the only thing Crowl doesn't do is block shots. Player to watch: Chucky Hepburn The Omaha native is always someone Nebraska fans watch in this matchup. Hepburn struggled last year having to shoulder a higher scoring load. With Storr in the picture, Hepburn is able to focus on being a distributor on offense and a disrubtor on defense. He's the only Badger starter shooting under 36% from 3 in confrence play. Others to watch Tyler Wahl has recovered from an ankle injury that really hampered his productivity last season. Max Klesmit has been on fire during conference play. Freshman guard John Blackwell has played into the rotation in part because of his 3pt shooting and in part because of Connor Essegian's struggles. However, most will remember Essegian coming off the bench vs. Nebraska and hitting 4 3s in 12 minutes. Carter Gilmore, Nolan Winter, and Markus Ilver are depth at the post. UNL Game Notes Out indefinitely 5 Ahron Ulis 6-3 190 lbs Junior - Likely out for the season 15 Blaise Keita 6-11 257 lbs Junior - Ongoing ankle injury recovery Game Time 4 Juwan Gary 6-6 221 lbs Junior Possible starters for Nebraska 10 Jamarques Lawrence 6-3 183 lbs Sophomore 30 Keisei Tominaga 6-2 179 lbs Senior 3 Brice Williams 6-7 213 lbs Junior 53 Josiah Allick 6-8 231 lbs Senior 51 Rienk Mast 6-10 248 lbs Junior Bench 0 C.J. Would also note that Hoiberg didn't mention Brice Williams when listing players about toughness despite the fact that Williams was in the room. The Skinny: Wisconsin has gelled as a team and walks into the PBA with the best record in the conference and a top 10 standing. In a conference where road wins have been rare, the Badgers currently are 3-1 on the road in the B1G. Wisky still has a couple of games against 2nd place Purdue, including one on Sunday, that might decide the conference. Are they looking ahead to that? A lot has been made about the lack of fight Nebraska has shown on the road but hopefully before we get to that they will keep up their play at home. The Badgers aren't going to turn you over nor aggressively hunt offensive rebounds, so Nebraska has a chance to win the possession battle against the best shooting team in the conference. With Wisconsin as the odds on favorite to shoot more FTs in this one, Nebraska will likely need the extra shot attempts to win. Is Juwan Gary back for this one? Look for Nebraska to fight in this one where Wisconsin very well might be looking ahead. Prediction: Nebraska 81 - Wisconsin 77 View full article

  12. Keisei is one of seven guys on the team born before Yvan Ouedraogo
  13. Let's worry about winning on the road starting Friday
  14. It's a big swing and the obvious thing for a coach and/or fanbase to do in the scenario is gripe. However, if you look at the season results, Purdue excels at defending without fouling whereas they get to the foul line a lot. On the flip side, Northwestern doesn't get to the FT line and puts people on the line a lot. In that context, the somewhat historic discrepancy isn't shocking.
  15. The problem is that Huskers.com will change their whole site stuff and then it breaks all the stats that some poor intern had updated the last time they changed. Rinse and repeat. However, here is a great page to bookmark that will give you this information in one page https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/nebraska/men/
