Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-6) vs Purdue Boilermakers (6-3) Date: Sunday Dec 15th, 2019 Time: 3:00 p.m. Arena: Pinnacle Bank Arena (15,000, 29th largest in D-I) Half Time: KC Disc Dogs Broadcast: BTN Purdue Info Head Coach: Matt PainterLocation: West Lafayette, INConference: B1G 10Nickname: BoilermakersMascots: Boilermaker Special, Purdue Pete Typical Rotation Depth: 8-9 KenPom rank: 6 KenPom home court advantage calculation: 4.0 (22nd in D-I) Previous history: Purdue leads the all-time 5-16. Purdue is on a 3 game winning streak. Shirt not to wear: Black, Gold Offensive Style: Slow Defensive Style: Slow Key Injuries: None Key Suspension: ** Nebraska announces Jervay Green will be suspended indefinitely ** Hoiberg Presser Kavas Presser Hoiberg talks about the challenge of playing on the road and playing two games in less than 48 hours. Players practiced well but don't know if that will carry over. (it did for Friday's game) Players to watch: Jahaad Proctor The High Point graduate transfer is leading the Boilermakers in scoring. He hasn't been shooting at high percentage but can get his own shot. Players to watch: Sasha Stefanovic The sophomore guard is one of the best 3pt shooters in the conference for a Purdue team that lost a lot of firepower from last year's Elite 8 team Roster points PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 2 Eric Hunter 6-4 175 So 3 Jahaad Proctor 6-3 205 Sr 55 Sasha Stefanovic 6-4 195 So 50 Trevion Williams 6-9 270 So 32 Matt Haarms 7-3 250 Jr 18.3 A lot of times Purdue will have 2 players on the court at a time that do not shoot 3s Hunter has shot better than he did as a freshman but has still been just average Haarms is the spirited Netherlands' giant who is an elite shot blocker and rebounder While not as good of a shot blocker as Haarms, Trevion Williams is an elite inside force Nebraska won't be able to stop when he gets the ball Aaron Wheeler is a 6'9" 3 and D guy whohas struggled with his outside shot Nojel Eastern is an Amir Harris-esque 6'7" point guard that rarely shoots outside the paint. Eastern is also a lock down defender Senior Dartmouth Evan Boudreaux (the guy who looks 40) is a 6'8" forward with an outside shot that hasn't been hitting thus far this year. Fr Isaiah Thompson provides guard depth The Skinny: This is a bit of a rebuilding year for a Purdue team that lost 3 starters from its Elite 8 team. Matt Painter has slowed down the offense as this team has shifted its focus towards defense. The guards are aggressive up front with their all of their rim protection behind them. Expect Purdue to be much more disciplined and more talented defensively than the Indiana team they faced on Friday. Expect the same on offense as the Boilermakers patiently try and work the ball inside. Purdue's back court doesn't draw a lot of contact but their front court does. It could get dicey if Ouedraogo and Cross find themselves in early foul trouble. This big and patient Purdue team looks like an elite version of an UC Riverside squad that came in and dominated the pace. Can Nebraska speed up the Purdue? How much do they have in the tank after a 45 minute slugfest with Indiana? Prediction: Purdue 76 - Nebraska 64 View full article

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 12; ed 10 - @ Indiana

There are plenty of good teams that run pack style defenses. I hope we can get enough length/speed to make it work for us. Virginia does and they have one of the best defenses in Div-1 every year. However, Purdue lit them up this year -

Fred Hoiberg on the post game: 'I feel really good moving forward. I have some really good pieces in this group, some really good players sitting out, and on top of that we're going to get a really good recruiting class. Similar to the way we built it (at Iowa St)' -

Now *THAT* looked like a team that could be good next year with more depth -

Felt like our half court offense was the best we've seen all season. -

Kavas might have been a plus factor vs Creighton but he's been a mess defensively tonight -

Look at it this way: let's assume that our suspicions are correct and this isn't long-term. Seems like the outcome of the next four games would be the same with or without Green

Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-5) at Indiana Hoosiers (9-1) Date: Friday Dec 13th, 2019 Time: 7:00 p.m. Arena: Assembly Hall (17,472, 16th largest in D-I) Broadcast: BTN Indiana Info Head Coach: Ryan "Archie" MillerLocation: Bloomington, IndianaConference: B1GNickname: HoosiersLast time out: Lost to Maryland Line: Indiana by 16 Typical Rotation Depth: 11 KenPom rank: 26 KenPom home court advantage calculation: 3.7 (64th in D-I) Previous history: Indiana leads the all-time 7-12. Nebraska has won the 3 games including 2 in Bloomington Offensive Style: To the rim Defensive Style: Rebounds Key Injuries: None Key Suspension: ** Nebraska announces Jervay Green will be suspended indefinitely ** Will Bobby Knight be there? Maybe Hoiberg Presser Kavas Presser Hoiberg talks about the challenge of playing on the road and playing two games in less than 48 hours. Players practiced well but don't know if that will carry over. Players to watch: Trayce Jackson-Davis Freshman PF Jackson-Davis is the biological son of former NBA player Dale Davis as well as a high school McDonalds All-American who thus far has lived up to the hype at Indiana. TJD leads the team in points, rebounds, FTs, and blocks. Nebraska is going to be in trouble if they can't deny the talented frosh the ball Players to watch: Devonte Green Indiana isn't a great shooting team so it's Senior combo guard Devonte Green along with guard Aljami Durham keeping defenses honest by shooting over 40% from beyond 3. The streaky Green should have plenty of open looks tonight with the Huskers packing in the lane...hopefully he will not connect Roster points PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 11 Devonte Green 6-3 185 Sr 1 Aljami Durham 6-4 185 Jr 3 Justin Smith 6-7 230 Jr 4 Trayce Jackson-Davis 6-9 245 Fr 50 Joey Brunk 6-11 245 Jr 15.2 The Hoosiers play 11 guys so you'll see lot of different lineups tonight Durham as mentioned above is a very good shooter Justin Smith slides into the 3 for this team and has been very efficient as a secondary piece in the offense Brunk played for Butler last year and has trouble against athletic bigs. Yet another rebounding force Soph guard Rob Phinisee has been out a couple of games with injuries but is back and is a steadying force for the Hoosiers Sr center De"Ron Davis has seen limited playing time with all the depth the Hoosiers have at the post. Same for oft injured PF Race Thompson The Skinny: Nebraska gets to face an Indiana team they've beaten three times in a row that absolutely knows they've lost to Nebraska 3 times in a row. While their strength of schedule has been so-so, they do have a couple of nice wins over Florida St and UConn. This is a defensive team with a ton of height so Nebraska will have to attempt to run them off the court though Indiana has the talent and depth to simultaneously cruise for offensive rebounds as well as get back on defense. On the other side Nebraska will need to try and deny post entry passes and hope the Indiana guards will just be cold from outside. Maybe Indiana won't take the Huskers seriously but you have to think losing to a non-blue blood twice in a row at home will be drilled into them. Is losing Jervay Green for this game going to befuddle the Hoosiers? Probably not. Prediction: Indiana 87 - Nebraska 65 View full article

Heady asked about Kavas at the 5 in the pre-game to Indiana/Purdue and in so many words that worked against the Jays because they didn't play anyone of size that would kill us on the boards which won't happen vs Indiana or Purdue. -
That's quite the idiom

lol I think you can bank on Moos being there if we make the Final 4 in basketball
